Anybody else think it was strange that Ajay didn't get minutes against Ball State? I think he's been a solid backup PG so far.

Was he injured or something?

Before he was ejected, Elmore brought the ball up. Maybe Boals initial plan was to experiment with James as a backup PG. Doesn’t explain why Sheldon didn’t play after the fact but that’s all I got.

Nope.

Bench is getting shortened.

No more PT for Hadaway.

And I noticed Elmore was bringing the ball up in one of the few possessions before he got tossed.

Sure seems like Boals knows he can no longer play 11 guys and sub in and out every two minutes.

I also think based on D play/deflections of the upperclassmen per both Sheldon & Hadaway - as well as BSU length across their lineup per Sheldon.

Everybody understood this would eventually be the case re: shortened bench. But with an entirely new and inexperienced roster it's worth the time to maximize combinations and data points to enable informed decisions later. Boals did it right.

Noticed this as well, and am interested to see if Elmore becomes our #2 PG. Sucks he got ejected.
