Kent favored by 3. On the surface they seem daunting...their only losses to Gonzaga, Houston & Charleston...all close and all on the road. The players will be really hyped up for this one, hopefully that results in a strong performance. Can't wait for this one.

Will the 110 be back at least?

after battling with a guy like hunter dickinson on michigans own court im sure we can handle whatever kent can throw at us since its on our floor
Was at that game, not sure we gave Dick much of a battle? He went for 24 and 14 and would've had more but battled foul trouble.

Bettors like Kent...line has moved to 4.5. I like the Ohio + 4.5 bet...very good chance it comes down to the last posession.

A quote on the recent BG thread: "Kent's gonna beat us by 12-15."

Wonder how much is being wagered by the BA'er knowing he/she only has to give 4.5?

I hope you're right. If you are it means we've played extremely well. I still see a double digit loss coming.

Park Baker on the bench and rotate around with Elmore, AJB, and Ben.

Superb half by Dwight. Someone else needs to show up.

Gabe has been useless tonight. If we want a one big look when Dwight's on the bench, put Clayton in and maybe he'll at least knock in a three.

Tonight’s lineups in the second half were a little confusing; and I hope isn’t the case moving forward in these close/big games. I get AJB hasn’t found his shot lately, but Baker isn’t doing much at both ends, either. Same with Elmore. Both freshman offer two things Baker doesn’t at the point — size and upside.

Regardless, tough to win games like these with Jaylin, Miles, and AJB aren’t shooting well. Kent is good, everyone knows their role.

Will never understand Boals playing Whiz and sitting Wilson as much as he did in the second half. So many lost possessions with #11 on the court. It’s four against five when #11 is on the floor. Sorry, but Whiz needs to be told to look for a new home next year. It’s difficult to watch him play division-one basketball. Seriously, what were Chris Mack and Boals thinking with this guy?

This has to be one of the more frustrating games I've watched in a long time. Kent State tried to give this game away to Ohio and the Bobcats wouldn't take it.

Credit to the Golden Flashes and their aggressive defense. They get their hands in the lane and make things difficult but the amount of awful turnovers by OU is unforgivable.

I also wasn't a fan of the late timeout. Kent State was in scramble mode with Hunter about to put up a wide open three. Following that, OU was rushed and settled for a 2-point attempt that wouldn't have made a difference.

Ohio has some talent but I'm starting to question their rotation and in-game decision making.

Senderoff gets a lot of flack on here (SBH, Borna) but he's doing a commendable job with the Flashes this year, getting them to play suffocating team defense and sharing the ball on offense.

And he made a decision that turned tonight's game in Kent's favor. After DWIII had a field day in the first half, hitting 8 of 9 and scoring 21 pts, Kent switched things up by putting a smaller player, 6-5 Davis, on DWIII instead of a true big - Hornbeak, Odisupe, Gillespie, Payton. DWIII didn't get the same good looks after half as he went just 1 of 2 from the floor.

It looked to me like Boals didn't want to call the last second timeout, but only did after we failed to move the ball at all on offense.

Hunter's off the front of the rim after the TO, yet again, 3 pointer made me glad he did call a timeout.

I don't recall being highly critical of Senderoff. Please enlighten me.

Who the heck called that last timeout--cost us the 4.5 spot!

I don't think Wiz was on the floor when OHIO turned it over 4 or 5 straight times so Wiz didn't hurt as much as the bricklayers and lousy passers did Perhaps Dwight doesn't have a career day without the little blows he knows he'll get from Wiz to keep him at full energy..

I know Carry missed a few at the stripe late but Roderick, the senior, the shooter missing the front end was a killer when you are trailing.

I recall you using a nickname for the coach on several occasions. I can't recall what it is but I know it's not an endearing moniker.

Wiz may not have lived up to expectations but since certain posters here seem to despise him, he certainly had more interest than Mack and Boals in recent years.

6’11 guys don’t grow on trees, so the interest will always be there if a team thinks they can develop. Wiz’ points and rebound stats are fine as a bench player; but he continues to struggle with grabbing the ball, putting it on the floor, and he only has 3 total blocks on the season — which is actually astonishing.

I don’t think anyone expected him to dominate, but he very well might not be a D1 player moving forward without improvement.

Wiz should move on as he has not shown any improvement.
He is slow, has awful foot work and at 6'11" doesn't rebound.
He needs to be coached to stay in the paint and rebound, period.
I also agree with another post that Clayton should see more time as a 5.
I guess with Ezuma out for the year we have little choice but to play Wiz.

I also am noticing that Boals is making other small changes to help offset some deficiencies.

Overall, we need 3 double digit scorers' game in and game out.

That was a toughie. We--erm, I mean Dwight Wilson III--played great. It was nice seeing Roderick hit a couple shots. Miles Brown gave a great effort as well - 28 mins, awesome defense, and stuffed the stat sheet. Needs to work on 4 turnovers though. I thought we were excellent defensively against a darn good Kent team.

In the 2nd half, I said the only way we would win is if we got to the FT line. Even though I thought we had them in foul trouble, we simply lost too many possessions on turnovers. Kent actually had more FT attempts in the game than we did.

It hurts to lose at home but Kent is the best team in the MAC right now.

Toledo will be the decider for me if we respond or stink.

At 15:20 it was 40-37. Next ten Bobcat possessions: Turnover. Turnover. Miss 3. Turnover. Miss 2. Miss 3. Miss 3. Made 3. Miss 3. Miss 3. At 10:05 it was 52-40. Told my wife game over. The fact we had the ball at the end with great chance to send game to OT shows how good Boals and staff are and the perseverance of this group. But, our Bobcats are prone to these bad stretches. Wilson is doing great with the physical limitations he has. But, we need a ball handler to step up and be the Big Cat and just...score... Right now those guys are playing for Alabama and Virginia....

But, I like the never die effort of the team. They sure don't mail it in.

To me Wiz and James just need to get comfortable out there. They need to breathe through their eyelids or wear a garter belt or something. And AJ Brown just needs to get used to the speed of the game.
