I’ll be there.

Saw they beat Wright State in Dayton last time out. Former 4 star recruit and Dayton Flyer transfer Dwayne Cohill had 43 points (on 16-19 shooting) for the Penguins.

Did we have a cancelation?

Why is there such a large gap between Marshall (Dec 3) and this game (Dec 11)?

Would also like to get the answer to JSF's originally posed question as to why this is a road game and not a home game.

We are both mid majors. I don't see anything weird about us playing up there. I'm guessing they will be in the Convo next season.

This isn't even strange. Playing at YSU is no different than roadies at other Horizon league mids we've had including Detroit, Bobby Mo, Wright St, Cleveland St etc.

In fact I'd like to see more home and homes with Horizon teams in our region like Northern Kentucky and Oakland.

The real only difference is YSU is, at least historically, awful. Seem to not be this year. Their gym is like a high school gym (think Akron's except no one bothered to ever update it) as well.

The first game ever at Beeghly Center was almost 50 years to the date of the this game, December 2, 1972. It was against us and we lost 68-59.

I will be there as well - sitting close to Eagle66. Only D1 arena in Ohio I have never seen a game in so that box will get checked. YSU looks to be very competitive this year. Several long/athletic players.

Painful from a fan perspective. The pain of last Saturday needs to go away with a nice decent road win.

Living in Youngstown there is some sense of surprise that Ohio is visiting Sunday afternoon for the game with YSU.

In my opinion it is appreciated by the locals that an Ohio MAC school that isn't Akron or Kent is willing to play here. I know we are all mid-majors, but in Youngstown our Ohio men's basketball team is considered a few notches above YSU and the Horizon Conference.

Win or lose it is viewed positively by local Ohio alums who I talked to about the game. No one that I talked to felt we should only play YSU at the Convo.

Quick look for a line (not easy to find one for this game) on Oddsshark shows Power Ranking Ohio 175 YSU 66 - Big spread there.....

I watched the YSU double overtime game vs NKU. Was a great game at NKU. YSU ended up losing but clear they have some very athletic players. I hope we can just keep it close, pull out a win even better! I think play in the paint will be very key - both sides of the court.

This is pathetic. When is that last time we would have been a dog of that magnitude against YSU. We've got a lot of guys not playing up to their potential and/or not playing well together for some reason.

The transfer portal has served one of these two teams very well this season, the other not so much.

I believe all of the following are in their first year at YSU: Cohill (U. of Dayton) leads team with 17.9 pts and 3.9 assists while shooting 60% from the floor, slightly less than his 60.9% from 3; Nelson (NKU and Pick Central) adding 13.6 ppg and team-best 9.3 rebounds; Green (Canisius) at 15.1 ppg and 7.9 reb; Rush (FDU) at 9.8 ppg

Think about this: These players decided to transfer to YSU and the Horizon League. We all know the production OUr team is getting from OUr transfers. Compound that with who Ohio lost in the portal.

Might explain why Ohio will be the underdog to YSU Sunday.

Sheesh, wish I didn't see these stats this morning but you're right, very telling and pretty much sums up this season so far.

Gotta win in the portal, there's no other option moving forward.

I have such a hard time thinking about being a young D-I athlete and choosing to live in Youngstown, Ohio.

Funny thing - YSU fans have their own begrudgings to this game
