Quinn played significant minutes in Spain. Had not heard to this freshman guard. (Walk-on or secret weapon?)

Inside sources say he was rumored to be going to Duke, but at the last minute he chose Ohio. He can jump out of the gym and has unlimited range. His powers are derived from the burritos at Big Mama's.

Preferred walk on from Upper Arlington high. Ben Estis is our other preferred walk on. (Chad's son)

Quinn made a 3 pointer in the last video of the game from Spain. Didn’t see any film of Ben Estis though he may have played as well. As preferred walk-ons, I don’t think the expectations for them are high, especially for this first year. The positive that I took from Quinn being on the floor is that Coach Boals probably had priorities other than strictly winning the game, such as player and team development. No doubt everyone learned a great deal in their travels abroad…

Go Bobcats!

Broken Record here:

The better the guys the Rotation face in practice everyday the higher the probability the Rotation will not be surprised by skill level of game day opponents.

Here's hoping the OHIO Shock Troops push the Rotation so hard that facing a MAC opponent is like a day of vacation on the mid-summer beach.

Some consider him a one-and-done and will declare for the 2023 NBA draft.

This was posted by me in the recruiting thread on May 3:

Averaged over 18 per game as a senior, scored over 1000 in career. 3rd team all state, conference co player of the year along with Ajay Sheldon.

As I understand it, was not on Bobcat radar screen til about 6 weeks ago when someone close to the UA program alerted Boals and Co. about him (parents are both Ohio grads). Ohio contacted UA staff, got some tape on him, had him in for a visit and extended offer this week.

Very pleased to see Ohio staff following up on something like this. I know last decade, a previous staff did not follow up when UA folks tried to get them interested in several players. UA has turned out a number of D1 kids in last few years.

Now (Aug 12) I'll add what I've since heard from the UA hoops crowd. When you see him out on the court, he doesn't look like much. They expect Boals and company to really work with him to build up his body/strength. Has somewhat of an awkward shot, but will make more than his share of 3 pointers.

That Burrito Buggy NIL $$$ really came through for us. I've heard rumblings about multiple TV spots for Larry Conrath Realty as well. The sky is the limit.

I love the game of basketball and have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level. I am hard working, competitive and coachable. My skill set includes ball handling, shooting, driving, defense and a high basketball IQ. I am looking for a team that fits those same characteristics and where I could use my skills to help make the team better.Upper Arlington senior Quinn Corna has committed to Ohio
Bobcats bring in an elite level walk on to pair with Dublin Coffman senior Ajay Sheldon.Corna and Sheldon had some battles over the years and now get to play together

What is an "elite level walk on" offered ? A shot at a scholarship when one opens up ? Promises without guarantees ? is this how top flight schools operate with talent standing in line for opportunity ?

There's plenty of time for Dr. Corna to take his talents to the Eskimos AFTER the NBA pay day. Get those dolla billz yo!

I heard he's dealing with adjusting to time management between Athens media obligations and night-lighting with rapper Stevie Fresh. AI told him he don't need to worry bout practice anyway. Well except for those Tenerowicz trick shotz. Tik Tok vids don't make themselves you know.

Side note - does this thread mark the first time in Bobcat history there's going to be a "legend" surrounding a first year walk-on?

For what it’s worth…In Football, AJ Ouellette was a first-year walk on…not saying it’s gonna happen, but who doesn’t like to look for an under the radar story? Glad the kid had some moments in Spain.
