I am not surprised that Akron won but am a little surprised at the margin.  Was to busy watching the Bengals game to listen to the actual Marshall broadcast though.  Looking at the stats Marshall has some big time shooting and turnover issues.  If it were only one game then it would be a fluke but it seems to be an ongoing problem.  I wonder if ESPN will still have the Herd at a 12 seed and Ohio at 13 seed in its brackatology section tomorrow?

I cant wait till tomorrow nights game at the Convo!

Akron has several new, talented players this year.  Once they figure everything out they will be tough during the conference season.

In Huntington tonight making way to Athens for tomorrows game after NY's Eve getaway trip. At the local Bob Evans for dinner, place was filled w/Herd fans (in their various shades of green), son and I there w/Ohio gear on - lot's of awkward glances - :). I did not realize they played Akron just before we got into to town, or would have tried to get here earlier and catch the game.

Talked to a few of the locals - more than one said "we should have stayed in the MAC".

Huntington paper had big story on the ups and downs of the season, never knowing which team will show up. The story noted biggest wins and losses of the season to date - the Ohio loss as the biggest loss of the season.

. . . .

Former Ohio provost, and now Marshall president, Steve Kopp, is hearing a lot of similar talk from influential alumni. The primary issue here is having too many games too far away for fans to travel to away games on a regular basis. For pride reasons, I don't think they'll ever rejoin the current MAC, but a new leaner, meaner conference made up of some current MAC schools and some of the eastern time zone C-USA schools might be a possibility.   This would be over the objections of Chucky Landon and to the astonishment of our very own Certified Pigskin Analyst, Monroe The Slavin*, however it's a possibility, I think, at this juncture.

*Sort of has a nice ring to it doesn't it?  Kind of like Robert the Bruce.

THat is all about the character of the kids you recruit. If they do not come every day withthe same work ethic then you will get incosistent results. Watch these guys in warm ups .....they think they can turn it on and off when they need it.....no urgency and no warrior attitude. All fun and games and showing out. Love to play those teams as it is so much fun to watch them self destrucrt and start yelling at each other even if they happen to have superior talent...not saying they do but evenso ....fun to watch suck.

they don't really even think they have to show up to beat us if you read their message board. Good thing we keep playing the games.

Dambrot had the basket measured at the Cam Henderson Center during warmups and found that Akron's rim was 1.5 inches over 10 feet.  Game was delayed for an hour while they fixed.  Wonder if Marshall was planning to move the baskets at halftime?!

Did anyone else decide to waste a few minutes of their life to actually read Chuck Landon column today in the Herald Dispatch? I always make it a point to read it after Marshall loses to a MAC school. This time he was completely beside himself that Marshall would lose to another "inferior" MAC school. He is a joke. Apparently his hatred of the MAC dates back to when he was a student at Marshall which happened to be when the Herd was kicked out for NCAA violations and poor facilities. I was listening to Woody on 930 AM and he said that when Chuck was a student he wore are "MAC Sucks" shirt all the time. What a waste. He should talk to a therapist.

In athens getting ready for tonights game!
