Mychal BBL PLayer of the MOnth (article below)

Meanwhile TOmmy gets some love on the other site after a great performance on Friday

The Green Machine, Mychal Green, gets awarded with Player of the Month for November... [return]

Mychal Green is the Molten BBL Player Of The Month For November after exploding into red-hot form for Glasgow Rocks.

After an encouraging start to his first season in the BBL during September and October, the guard has done a phenomenal job in stepping up for his team ever since backcourt partner EJ Harrison got injured.

Green led the league in scoring and three-point shooting during the period with 25.8 points per game and a superb 57% accuracy from downtown. He also showcased his combo abilities by dishing up 4.6 assists per game.

Perhaps mot impressively of all and underlining his all-round influence on the Rocks, Green also did the dirty work on the glass by pulling down 6.8 rebounds per game which despite his guard status, made him the joint sixth best defensive rebounder in the BBL during the month.

All of the above contributed to Green having by far the most impressive performance valuation of any other player during November!!!

Green just pipped Jeremy Bell of UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders and Bill Cole of Cheshire Jets in the scoring stakes who recorded 23.2 and 20.5 points per game respectively.

The leading rebounder was Matt Schneck of the Jets who actually averaged a double-double of 16.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. The same feat was also achieved by Paul Williams of the Raiders who averaged 11 points and 10.8 rebounds. One real eye opener was the veteran playmaker Ralph Bucci also joining this exclusive list with the Wildcats’ guard averaging a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds,

It was a great month for Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders and that is evidenced by the fact that four players feature in the top six spots for field goal percentage with Drew Sullivan leading the way with a stunning 71.9%.

Meanwhile Fab Flournoy is known as a great leader and he led the Eagles team in more ways than one during November with the player-coach leading the BBL in assists with 5.4 per game.

Defensively, Prestige Homes MK Lions duo Demarius Bolds and Daniel Northern led the way with the former claiming 3.2 steals per game and the latter blocking 1.6 shots per game, a number shared with Raiders’ center Paul Williams.

O'Shea wasted Green's talent more than anyone he ever had.

Week 13

Tommy Freeman set the tone for his team to extract sweet revenge for a heavy loss at Prestige Homes MK Lions a month earlier with a brilliant display as Wolves rode out comfortable winners this time around. The forward finished with 26 points in a display when he showcased his impressive inside-outside game.

Research shows an interesting way of deriving the Team of the Week players.....not just some sportwriters or coaches voting....actually based on formulaes.....AND winning.

Team Of The Week
Each week of the regular season BBL selects a Team of the Week based on the statistical performances in the games played that week.

The team is made up of:

Two Guards
Guard/Forward
Forward
Forward / Center

To be considered for the Team of the Week players must first be on the winning team (to make our starting five) and then it is based on statistical performance, the formula for which is as follows:

Plus
Points x 1
Steals x 1
Total Rebounds x 1
Blocked Shots x 1
Assists x 1

Minus
Missed Field Goals x 1
Missed 3pts x 1
Missed Free Throws x 1
Turnovers x 1
Personal Fouls x 1
