60...50 seconds left...down 4...5..6 points and jacking up nothing but 25 footers. What happened to trying to extend the game with 2 pointers and foul? Poor execution in the last 2 games in the final 60 seconds.

Groce has to figure out how this team will beat a 2-3 zone.  Until then, we will start to crumble just like we do every year come MAC time.

New RPI: 174.

Kidding, but I think we can all stop talking about the at-large now. Drat. Rather than the triple-bye with a top-two seed in the MAC Tournament, I think we might be lucky to be talking about getting a top-six seed.

Really tough loss tonight.

Made the mistake and bought into the hype...again.  Bites me every time.  Average team right now.  Need to gel in Feb.

grade school...set up in a 1-3-1 and get it into the post or the guy running the baseline.  Why do we set up in a 1-2-2 or 3-2?  Undisciplined is an understatement.  Face it, as a jump shooting team our shot selection has been horrible.  Why do you think they leave DJ open from 23+ feet?  Because he misses 74% of them.

This team looked sloopy all nite. Another loss to start MAC play. This team peaked at Northern Iowa and has looked less than their best in the last 4 games.  Is another 1-4 start to MAC play in the cards for Ohio.

I'll try to explain why I sort of changed the topic of this thread.

We seem to stand around and pass the ball around the perimeter way too much early in the game against zones.  OUr post players are running around trying to battle for position, but the ball has already been reversed to the other side. Instead of passing to the post which leads to a pass to the baseline like they did during the big run at the end, we stall the ball allowing the opponents defense to set up.  The best way of zone breaking is that it has to be done QUICKLY so the defense is behind the play.

If this is done quickly and often, we probably (barring ridiculous shooting percentages by the other team) wouldn't have to worry about catching back up by shooting threes.
