I look back on yesterday, and still have a grin on my face.  Getting into the Convo at 1:25, and seeing the place half full already got it started right for me.  With the top 5-7 rows as an exception, the Roundhouse was full by the time players were introduced, and the buzz was in the building.  For me, the day brought back memories of my first years in Athens and winter quarter of 1996, and into the next winter quarter 1997.  I remember two games the most from those first two years in Athens.  The first was the first game I went to, which was the famous Geno Ford dribble out the clock game in 1996, and the second, the overtime thriller against Antonio Daniels led BGSU in 1997.  That 1997 game is the last game I remember seeing the place as crowded as it was yesterday.  I certainly hope this game gives OUr team momentum for continuing to draw large crowds going forward.

If you think about all that happened yesterday, to me, it must go into my Top Ten days in Bobcat Sports history.  It certainly does at least since I was a student in 1995-96.  The combination of the biggest crowd in 15 years, Gary Trent Day ceremonies, the sharing of the Idaho Potato Bowl trophy in front of the packed house, and a great nip-and-tuck college basketball game against OUr rival make it a great memory for years to come.  I hope this season can continue to be a special one so that yesterday can just be part of the big picture of bigger achievements by Coach Groce's team this year.

We had an awesome comeback that game. I still remember sitting behind the press seats watching a BG reporter type about a dominating performance in beating the Bobcats... Way too soon.

If I remember correctly, the Miami game in 1996 or 1997 had a similar fantastic comeback.

You're right, there was a big comeback in that one.  I don't recall the exact deficit, but the box score shows down ten at the half, and winning the second half by ten.  I'm hoping for more days like yesterday in the next few years.  I really believe this team has what it takes to be one of the most special Bobcat teams.  Just a matter of grinding it out like yesterday.

I was a student from 1991-1995, which most consider the glory days of Ohio basketball.  It was a throwback day for my wife and I.  It really had the same feel as the games from back then.  It is one of my top 10's.  I hope the students and fans realize this can be done again.  I am convinced if our crowds were like that on a regular basis, recruits would always choose Ohio.  We have the pieces in place to be a special program.  I don't think any other MAC school can replicate what we had yesterday.

Great day!  If our crowds were routinely like that we could be in the Big East!

I think it would take a little more than just the crowds.  On the other hand, with crowds like that a lot of good things could happen for the program to get better and better.
