EPIC FAIL.

We have been looking forward to this for 3 months. There are no excuses. At least run the ceremony on the radio. Embarassed and disappointed by who made these decisions.

It was all about the Trent Ceremony today. I wanted to see that more than the game.

You can't "F" that up...and they did.

EPIC FAIL

Dag, I had my tx bought and was ready to go.  But, roads from Cincy to Athens got in the way.  So, i figured I'd watch the video stream.  What a complete disappointment.  Was in the chat room and had some fun though.  Bottom line, you "promise" it and you better deliver it.  Very disappointing.  I would hope to see the ENTIRE last 5 mins of the game and the halftime show posted on line at some time.  Final comment, if you want to be big time you gotta get things like this right.  I suppose there were good reasons for this but it seems like in this day and age a video feed should not be that difficult but I am sure i am wrong about that (evidently).

Good News:  Bobcats win...keep it going.  I think I'll try to get up there Wed night!  Should be another good game.

If you want to go big time you don't let a little ice get in your way.

They have a "watch" link in the on demand portion of the portal, but it's only 30 seconds of very choppy video and ends with Fiami up 8-3.  I hope they more than that.

optmist: you can say that about candies like me that didn't drive from cincy BUT have you noticed people from kansas, Cali and Mass on this board?  I think they deserved better!  And, contrary to your opinion, the roads were REALLY REALLY bad in Cincy til 11 or 12.  Tuff to make a 2pm start from west side of Cincy if you leave that late.

Are we complaining about a free product?

Nobody is. OU's a state university that's publicly supported.

We pay a hefty sum to subsidize intercollegiate athletics.

The department's budgeted expenditures were $18.4 million in Fiscal Year 2011.

Oh please. You are complaining about a free product. And not only is it free but it's one of the better ones around.  We have excellent announcers, the video feed is generally tremendous and interruptions are few.  You can spew that crap about your tax dollar all you want but it is a low budget-high reward service.  I can count on one hand the number of times there have been major problems with the service. It's unfortunate that it happened on such a high profile day but @@@@ happens.  If it were a regular occurance then maybe I could see your point but it's not.

First of all, I haven't complained about the streaming video or lack thereof.

Secondly, it's quite debatable whether or not it's free when a public institution pays for it.

Try to relax.

Understandable... I'm a Senior at OU who has to walk 15 minutes to the Convo and I'm from NEO where we get pounded with multiple feet of snow...  Biased.

Sure PF, I'm waiting to hear how much everyone charged on their credit cards to get the video that didn't happen today. Hopefully nobody got charged 18.7 million or whatever you were quoting earlier :)

If it is a charge on the CC, hopefully they can dispute the charges since what they paid so much for wasn't provided, and get a full refund from the card provider.

Oh wait... They paid nothing...

I don't get this. You say the weather kept you from making the trip, but you don't how the ice might have disrupted things.

Here's a pic of my son skating on college green 'after" the game. It was worse before. Blame God, if anyone, for the technical difficulties.

I'm not complaining about the lack of a subscription-free service.  Technical problems happen, so it's a way of life.  Right now, though, I wish they'd take the "watch" link for the game off the on-demand service.  They have 30 seconds of crappy video and audio.  If they don't have the game available for archive, so be it.  But don't put up such a crappy product.

By the way, I like their new graphics, which can be seen sporadically through the crap.

If there is no internet in the Convo, how exactly are they supposed to get the video uploaded to Stretch Internet, a 3rd party service provider, so they can stream it to everybody?

I don't get all the bitching that is going on here.  Russ's "promise" he made on BA.com was that the radio could not cover the ceremony on the radio, but they would do their best to get it shown with decent audio on the webcast.   Obviously they had to continue to do their job and do the halftime report with commercial breaks as their contracts state.

I imagine we'll eventually get video of the ceremony.  Seems like we have been a bit spoiled by the services provided and the instant information everybody has come to expect these days.

It blows my mind that some people actually cancelled their trip to Athens for the weather Saturday...but then again, I originally hail from Wisconsin.

On a related note - I thought Russ and Rob did a nice job on the broadcast.  Lucky to have the best team in the MAC covering the day.

As a possible future solution...especially if this was partially caused by a lack of financial support,  I would immediately subscribe for a season of video broadcasts.
