Kind of remarkable that two historically strong programs cratered in a similar time period to each other.

I see a pattern developing where each pregame thread starts with "Get off the ledge and let's talk Miami vs. <next opponent>"

Miami's fan issue is more concerning to me than its; product on the floor.

If Miami hires the right coach -- and it more often than not gets the right man historically -- the Redhawks will be back up and in the hunt in two or three years.

The attendance woes have a BG-esque feel to them, however... a long-term erosion of support dating back to the Wally era that will be difficult to reonstruct no matter what kind of improvements Miami makes both on the court and in facilities.

Toledo, by nature of the size of its market and lack of competition for entertainment dollars during the winter in that city, will draw if it wins.

True - except for their minor league (or whatever you call "Not NHL) hockey team - have been some struggles with attendance there lately. My distributor there loves to show off their suite in the new Savage arena, and I'm happy to oblige (and Always wear Green & White/Logo wear). @Swank - "Adult Beverages" - even better in suite of an "Adult Beverage" distributor!

Let's hope we don't decide to make a foray into D1 hockey............

I'm sad that it's ending this way for Coles.

Two years ago, I was dead certain that there would be a transfer of duties to Henderson. I don't think that's the case any more.

Regardless of the Hawk Talk opinions, Charlie and his staff get the most out of the few players they have. It just begins with a thin roster that leaves no room for attrition.

Whether it be Ozone sponsored or not, we should rally the troops when OU travels to Miami.  From the sounds of it, it wouldn't take many people to neutralize the home-court advantage effect.

It's kind of funny - they know that they suck.

I'm imagining the OZone going to a Miami game... and in my mind, it does not end very well for anyone.

Our fans caring a lot vs. their fans not caring at all, the student section becomes disrespectful at an away team's venue, I just don't see the OZone supporting a trip to Oxford anytime soon.

Now to Akron or Kent, that is much more reasonable/foreseeable.  The rivalry is a bit more tame, but intense on both sides, and I think that both home and away fans would appreciate the OZone attending one of those games.

We did it a couple years ago.  Was quite fun, except we lost.

In 1993 we sang Kumbaya after an usher threatened to have us thrown in jail.

Am I the only one who thinks travelling to Akron would cause more "trouble" for Ozoners and Cat fans than going to Oxford?  Cra'kron's fans seem far more capable of being obnoxious.

Nice banter from BSU boards remarking ontheir crowds.

I'll start being critical of the crowds and the students when and if we put an exciting basketball product on the floor and they still don't show up and cheer loudly.

Until then, we'd better invest in some more large sign panels to cover up more empty seats.

Can't argue that, but this was still a big game. You would think more would have attended.

NEXT resp

I agree with the General, and perhaps these large sign panels could have people painted on them so the crowd would appear larger on TV. Winning will change our crowds for the better, much the same as it has done for Butler.
