Joe Lunardi mentioned Ohio in two articles recently.  First he has us as the fifth team out of the NCAA Tournament right now in his latest Bracketology.  He lists us with a 25% chance of an at large.

This kind of surprises me.  2 more home wins this week and I'd expect to see more of this chatter.

I don't think anyone has any delusions of at large bid at this point, but positive press like this is always good to see.

Suppose the Cats win the next five or six in a row?  I'd say at that point there's worthy consideration.  They'll have to have a better game against Western tomorrow for that to happen.

How Marshall is in his thoughts is beyond mind-boggling . . .

Marshall seems to have some great vibes this year from guys writing articles, who need to come up with some non-Power Conference teams to list, but aren't necessarily paying all that close of attention.  They seem to be listed everywhere.

Real Time RPI sitting mid-70s.

It makes sense that Ohio is among the first 8 left out of a 68 team tournament.

That's not to say I harbor real hope of the Bobcats playing their way up into an at large.

But there are multiple teams with much lower RPIs included in the field based on conference representation, so apparently there is something Lunardi sees in the Ohio resume that lifts the Bobcats past several other teams ranked higher in RPI. Still, you're right that at this point, an at-large isn't very realistic unless the team basically wins out until the MAC finals or something.

We got win the rest of our games and reach the MAC final.  With just 5 loses that may stand out despite a very soft schedule loaded with 200 and 300 rpi teams. We got a couple good wins Northern Iowa and Marshall on paper, but both are fading fast and even Northern Iowa and Marshall chances look slim to be in the field of 68.
