Isn't it great that we have an opportunity today to see our Bobcats take on our archrival M#$%i in what will be one of the largest crowds in recent Convo history?

I couldn't help but think this morning that this is a day made for the late Dan Lowe, Ohio's number #1 fan. He would love the connection to Ohio athletic history with Gary Trent being honored. He would love that we're playing our rival. He would love to be part of  one of the largest crowds in Convo history. I also can't help but think that he will be with us in some way today.

So, to honor Ohio's #1 fan who died tragically during a pick-up game at the Convo in 2005, I ask all Bobcat fans in attendance to show their support  by providing the best possible homecourt advantage for our team. If you aren't in the Convo, wear your green and white today.

And, if you have the means to do so, please consider making a contribution to the Dan Lowe Memorial Scholarship Fund. His family established this scholarship for students with an interest in sports reporting. It recognizes Dan's love for all Bobcats athletic teams, his degree from the Scripps School and his loyalty to our university.

Our family does it's best to make an annual contribution to this scholarship fund.   I'm going to pledge $1 for every point the Bobcats score today. If we win, I'll double it. Nothing would make us happier than to see the Bobcats break the century mark and send M#$%i home with a loss. But no matter what, we'll feel blessed to have an opportunity to support our team.

You can make a contribution on-line or mail a check payable to The Ohio University Foundation. If mailing a check, be sure to put Dan Lowe Scholarship Fund in the memo line. The mailing address for these is:

It was a pleasure to write a check yesterday to The Ohio University Foundation to recognize Dan Lowe and OUr team's win over M#$%i.  I enjoyed doing this so much, I think I will do something similar for our visit to Oxford and pick another of my favorite Ohio University scholarships.  Go, Bobcats!

Joe ..help me cipher out how much I should be writing this check for......and you were right....I think he would have rather liked the day from beginning to end. That time lapse thing Evan did of the Convo was amazing. Should make anyone want to support the University at many levels.

I sent a check for $138 -- $69 for each point we scored x 2 for the victory.  You are so right about the day from beginning to end. I sure hope a lot of it is captured in the first episode of All In.
