I am seeing chatter on this board where people think this is a slam dunk win. I’m not sure really why? Eastern Michigan should’ve beaten Toledo on the road and it just won at Miami. We are easily one Bates 30-40 point burger away from dropping to 3-6 in the conference. Ypsilanti has always been a house of horrors.

He'll give up 9 inches, but it's gotta be Miles, no? At least Bates prefers to stray outside the 3-point line, somewhat negating his size advantage.

We don't have anyone who will be able to both contest Bates' jumpers and be able to stay in front of him if he drives. One good thing for us, he hasn't been real consistent so we might get one of those "clunker" games from Bates where he only scores 10-15. I'd be more worried about making sure guys like Farrakhan and Acuff don't go crazy. If they get balanced scoring I'll be more worried. In only one of EMU's wins did they allow more than 70 points, and defensively they do not look strong. They allow about 82 points per game in MAC play. I have to think we're going to get open looks, we'll need to convert them.

Need to get a W here.

We've been pretty good lately and haven't lost in Ypsi since Groce was the coach. Weirdly enough, both of Groce's tournament teams lost up there.

I think this is the only answer.

Otherwise I’m 6’4 and free this week. Probably the second best option.

Ohio is a 7.5 point favorite. EMU is a tough team to prognosticate...I could see a loss or a 20+ point win. A lot will depend on if Bates is hitting from deep or not. Personally I think we defend against the drive and force him to bury them from deep...he isn't a particularly prolific 3 point shooter.
