Frustrating start, but agree that the first half looked like tryouts for the second half. Still trying to figure out what this team’s offensive identity is.

DW3 shouldn’t have less shots than Baker and Hunter. If he’s going to be the first guy subbed out, let the offense flow through him to start; get him his touches. He’s demonstrated he can dish to the cutting guy or out if he’s doubled.

Hunter shot the ball horribly, but loved his drive and dish game during the second half. More of him feeding the corners for 3’s. I’ll take a poor shooting night if he’s handing out 7 assists, grabbing 5 boards, and being active on defense.

Helluva of game for Miles and BRod. The latter was a huge spark off the bench today when we needed it. Baker, woof. I’ve been a huge advocate of his but I think once AJB (wish we saw more of him today) gets some reps in, he takes Baker’s spot in the lineup. Miles has really stepped up and has locked in a starting job.

Clayton played better in the second half, but his leash might be getting shorter with the how Hadaway played. Clayton is obviously superior physically, but Hadaway plays with way more confidence and knows he belongs. That’s the difference between the two imo.

Speaking of the above; why not let Hadaway be the first off the bench for DW3 and bump Clayton to the 5? I hate to keep picking on Wiz, but he just doesn’t have it yet and doesn’t bring much on either end of the court.

Same question as most — what is EJ4 doing or not doing to hardly be playing?

It just feels like we have a lot of great puzzle pieces but have not found the right combination.

Man, Hunter and Baker a combined 5-24 from 2pt, 1-12 from 3pt range...WOOF

Baker's last two games...4-24 from 2pt, 0-10 from 3pt...Big WOOF

Makes me happy to see BRod shoot well. If he continues to shoot and play well, why not start him? I know his defense is not great but we need some offensive consistency on this team.

As I read comments about the game, I swear people who post watched different games sometimes.

Apparently PJ Carlesimo was in the house. That was his son in the Panther rotation. Always get amused when known basketball names get spotted in the Convo. Calipari, Bill Walton, Tim Hardaway, Manute Bol are some others.

I feel like anytime we get the ball iso'd on the block with Wilson, everybody else just stands and watches.

No cutting, not setting off ball screens to try to get somebody open.

I trust Wilson to make the right play but it doesn't seem like he gets much help.

Man, was that ever refreshing to see from Roderick. On both ends. He took a few charges on the defensive end to go along with his shot making. As others have said, Baker is certainly struggling to shoot the ball right now. Hopefully he can get on track soon because we need him to be a scoring threat.

Am I the only one who feels like Miles Brown needs more looks? Of all of our guys, I feel the best when I see him shoot from both 3 and the free throw line. I feel like he has been really solid this year, and if we find ourselves in a free throw contest late in a game right now, I want the ball in his hands.

Jerry Lucas was in the building during the OU/O$U womens match the other day, Shab. Spoke to PJ, easy to talk to the man.

EIU knocked off Iowa a day or two back. I had to double check to be sure it was the same school we played early in the year. They were something like 30.5 point dogs and went in and beat the Hawkeyes.

Yes, this is interesting. On the EIU website that they say, "EIU Stuns Iowa." I love these upsets. It's what makes Makes March Madness so much fun for me. But, it doesn't have to be the tourney. Any time is great for basketball upsets. This one is even sweeter since we beat them.

Here's the story on the EIU site:
