Just five points in the final eight minutes played. Shot clock awareness nonexistent at times. Dwight at the top of the key with five seconds is a recipe for a terrible look. Tremendous poise the rest of the game and a brilliant effort, but we folded in crunch time. Plain and simple.

I would say Clayton took the shot because no one else wanted to. Who is our guy to close out games? Thought it would be Jaylin after the first half, but apparently not. Agreed on the Boals comment, we had a timeout to burn when we were tied in regulation at the end there. Use it, regroup, call a play, get the last shot.

Not following. He sucked last year. He still appears to suck this year. He can hit uncontested 3s when the opponent forgets to guard the goofy kid. Not sure what he brings outside that. Sadly we are so so terribly undersized he's the only PF we have on the team.

And for those who keep saying Clayton "is still young". It's immaterial. Doesn't matter if he's 12 or 42. He's a sophomore and only gets 2 more years of eligibility.

I agree. We’re a young team with new (transfer) players. This effort bodes well as the season moves on. I continue to believe we have a well coached team which will continue to improve.

I didn't think we was too awful last year - had a hot start to the year

I agree with all that. Devastating loss but I expected us to get run out the gym so I can't fault them for the effort.

Still lots of room to improve but this next stretch of home cupcakes should be used to get healthy, get rotations and get leadership/ownership/who's "the go to guy" figured out for MAC play.

I thought there were 39 minutes of good basketball IQ and decision making and then the last minutes of regulation and OT was a hot mess. From the lack of any real idea with the possession that started at 1:00 minutes left and us tied, to Clayton shot, to really stupid foul 75 ft from basket. I appreciate the efforts Ben has given us, but just don't see how he fits to be on the floor in big spots. Hope AJ Brown eventually takes those minutes.

I couldn't watch the game live, so I DVRed it. The DVR stopped just as Michigan was getting ready to shoot foul shots with .1 seconds left. I'm wondering how this game got to OT. Did the officials put more time on the clock and then OHIO scored a basket to tie it up after successful charity tosses by UMich? I did see a video of DWIII's tip in, so I think I figured out what happened, but I'm not sure.

I will say that this was the best game OHIO has player so far this year. DWIII really looked like the guy I remember from two years ago. It's the first game this year that he looked anything like what I remember of him from his previous stint on the hardwood for the 'Cats. And, Hunter really made some great shots and looked more energetic and intense than in any game this year. I was very down on this team, but this game gives me a glimmer of hope that we may actually have a good team the year after all. Go OHIO!

Check out the Play by Play from the 4 minute mark on in regulation. Here is where we dropped the ball and really had the chance to win this game in regulation.
I am optimistic about our team coming out of this game. The boys played well enough to win and that gives me and should give the team much hope moving forward.

So close! Obviously, some things to correct but, high pressure game day experience for our youngest players should pay dividends down the road. I have to think if Coach wants to, he can tighten up the rotation and play better ball right now. But, I personally am happy if we can go back to playing more guys these next few games and see if there is anyone who can help us and, give the young guys more in game experience. Can't wait to get AJ Brown and IJ to come back.

We should be in the mix in the MAC as long as Dwight stays healthy...

P.S. AJ Clayton will bounce back. He's not going anywhere.

Having been in the Crisler Center last night, man, tough one to digest. We had this one. We should have had this one. Amazing effort and we were all proud Bobcats even in defeat to have pushed UM to OT. The atmosphere in that building was profoundly different from about the 3 minute mark of regulation through OT. Every time UM made a run and it felt like "here it comes" we found a way to answer and get a bucket or two until OT.

Hell of an effort.
