I know we’ve been rough on Sheldon but shoutout to him for figuring it out. He’s been solid for a few weeks now
I would agree with that.
Sheldon has not hurt us the last few games. Craptain Crappos continues to miss the most bunnies, dribble down a clock with zero points and play Olay defense the best. And Breath is dead to Boals? Come on.
Are you actually watching this game? Captain Chaos is playing well.

Looks like we survive another walk through the woods with Tod Von Sossan. Dude keeps popping up all over the MAC this year. Dekalb, Kron,Kent,BG...Miami ..Balls...he is everywhere....still waiting for him to have a good game. SMS. I miss Wymer...

Does anyone know what Boals' career record is v. NIU? Fearleon? Gotta think Boals hates seeing NIU leave the MAC.

Did Breath injure himself in the pre-game warmup line? Again?

Buffalo and UMass are the only 2 teams in the conference with a winning record that we’ve beaten. Tod K is on deck. Jeff has six days to figure how he’s 1-12 against his daddy.

Kelly fouled NIU's Valentine on a 3-pt attempt early in the second half and the NIU announcer said that's the 19th time Valentine has been fouled on a 3 this year (I think there was one when NIU played in the Convo last month). Valentine swung his right leg out to create contact with Kelly on the play today and I noticed he tried that 1 or 2 other times without getting the whistle. If I was Boals, or another opposing coach, I would get in the refs' ear before the game and ask them to be aware of this and not give him those calls.

Frankly, I suspect MAC refs are tired of listening to Boals. He's become a Bobby Hurley level whiner.

Congrats to Jeff and the guys on getting a road win. Yes, I get NIU is terrible, but we have witnessed teams in similar situations shit the bed. Beat UT next Saturday and things look a tiny bit better.

Burris and Evans with solid minutes today. Hadaway and Sheldon were plus players. I liked what I saw today, even with NIU as the opponent. Win on the road, take the W, and get on the bus.

Some of you are grinding some axes and/or may actually be Fiami grads hiding behind a fake name. NIU just beat UB at home. UB beat UMASS on the road as a 7.5 point dawg.

I will take any road win we can get. Nothing here to give props to Simmons? I know he chirps but he is a player. I have certainly been critical at times for performance and coaching but not too high and mighty to give credit to 18-22+ year old kids.

Hadaway seemed to play within his capabilities tonight - 13 and 11.

Simmons may be ready for a run. Sheldon? How about 38% from 3 for the year and some clutch makes today. NIU hit 7 critical three pointers during the game to keep it from getting out of control.

Let's see what happens.

Simmons was good. Kind of a matchup nightmare for NIU, but he was what we needed him to be today.

Simmons would be so much more impressive if he could use his right hand. Or jump. Or play defense. Or keep his mouth shut.

But yes, he played well today.

And to add, Hadaway was efficient.

He would be way more efficient if he made basic layups instead of dipsy doing. Or play defense. Or stop wasting clock by backing people down. Or generally leading by example without being a complete turd.

UB without their (only) star player, right?

UB played without leading scorer Freitag (20 ppg, second best in the MAC) in loss to NIU. Also played without him yesterday in win at UMass.

I’m glad someone mentioned this. Especially Evans playing well yesterday. I’ve always thought he needed more minutes…

He had two points and no rebounds. He might be starting next year, so....

Yikes.

What in the world has Evans proven in two years that he can play at this level? Zero rebounds and a missed layup against one of the worst teams in the country. And he can’t steal minutes from Mister Softee? No way he should be taking up a scholarship from this program next season.

Will Boals nudge him out the door? Otherwise, I don't see Evans voluntarily leaving Athens. A good source has told me that Evans is enjoying the nightlife on Court St.

Teams need end of the bench scout-team players.

The problem is if Evans and Burris and the Reynoldsburg three are counted on as key players next season, it could be ugly. Very very ugly.

Yes.

Nudge away.

Players are getting paid and these scholarships should be treated as one year contracts. Jeff hasn’t figured this part out and it’s another contributing factor as to why he’s staring at a lame duck season as head coach in 2026-2027.

The missed layup was rushed due to a horrendous bounce pass that he had to pick up off his shoes. I’m not saying he’s a 10+ minute guy but damn he’s long and quick. Had a nice block and looked pretty good shooting his FTs. That’s all we ask for but our transfer C can’t do it for us.
