Miami is good. Definitely better than us. But they aren't unbeatable. They aren't even the best team in the MAC (that would be Akron). I'm not saying they dont beat us. They likely do. I'm just saying its not like were playing Duke here.

We could legit beat them in Athens or Cleveland.
They're really living high on the hog right now. Their weak schedule built so much confidence, that we definitely don't have, and in-turn has helped them build an insane amount of self-confidence in close games, teams are on edge playing them, they get weak calls at the end of games, they take chances while teams play stiff. Buffalo nearly knocked them off, twice. We beat the brakes off Buffalo. Theres no reason we can't beat them. They're not invincible. They struggled with teams we beat. The difference is they're cruising. We're playing with our heads down. They can brush off so much, because their living on cloud nine. Every problem we have is magnified and exacerbated. I'm jealous of them, and I don't like it, and it's really gone to show how much that team belives in themselves. And they built that belief crapping on D3 teams while we got hammered by Louisville. We're not a great team, we're an average team. But we're playing with our heads low, we're stuck in quicksand. They're not a great team either, they're a good, solid team. But they're playing with the confidence of the 2016 Cavs. Which elevates them so much. I've shifted from jealousy and dismissal into hey man, this is kinda cool - they play so well as a TEAM. A team that will lose in Athens come March.
If they survive a play-in game 30 miles away in Dayton and have to play one of the middle-of-the-pack SEC teams like Alabama,Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Missouri in the real first round...fiami will get beat like a rented mule. I for one will laugh at that after they didn't play a single decent team out of conference.

Or they could end up in the NIT vs SF Austin or Belmont or some other mid who dodged playing any real competition in the pre-conference.
I'm not sure why you are so sure about that. This team can shoot it from anywhere on the floor. Last I checked, putting ball in basket is pretty important in "basket" ball.
Non-anecdotal unbiased rankings....

Torvik ranks fiami #79 in the nation/ KenPom #83 / TeamRankings.com #86

Torvik ranks Vandy/Tenn./Bama at #11/17/19
KenPom at 13/17/18
TeamRankings at 13/15/17 (plus Arkansas at 16)

That is why I am so sure that I'm sure. Those teams can also shoot...and play D.**

**at a very different higher level than what fiami is used to playing against.

Don't think for a minute that a guy like Nate Oats or Calipari won't run the score up.

Eff these guys. Put their win streak on the curb and stomp it. Show up with pride and move on to the next.

Akron is favored tonight v. UMass (-12.5) more than Miami is favored v. Ohio (=7.5). And not by a little. I find that a bit odd.

What impresses me the most of Miami of late is how their prolific 3-pt shooting has allowed them to spread the floor with 4, sometimes 5, players outside the arc, which has opened up the floor for unimpeded drives to the basket or backdoor passes for layups. Everyone in their rotation can and will shoot from deep with starting center Woolfolk hitting 37% from deep and his backup, Atlason, at 39%.

The player on the roster with the most upside, freshman Kirby, was planning on taking a redshirt until starting PG Ipsaro was lost for the season. Kirby didn't play in Miami's first 13 games but now comes off the bench as an energy player who will hit from deep (10 of 20) and get to the basket. Probably their most athletic player.

Miami has taken every MAC team's best shot and has been tested in close games. Ohio, being 7.5-point underdogs, has a chance to make a statement against their top rival.

Hope I am wrong, but after watching this team all year, I don’t believe it has the ability to make a statement game!

Seven players of the Miami (Ohio) Men’s Basketball team will miss Friday’s game vs Ohio due to a conflicting Alpha Phi date party.

The RedHawks undefeated 24-0 record could be in jeopardy.

Oxford radio: Coach Steele says if they turn it over less than 10 times they are scoring 95 tonight!

He sounds like coach Solich because he says the toughest team will win tonight by limiting the other teams runs.

I hate when a game on TV runs late, past its programmed time, with the game you want to watch is scheduled next. Happens a lot in college basketball. Never thought the guilty party is a meaningless NBA all-star celebrity game. Only espn. Booooo

Watching our offense play 4 on 5 as ajay Sheldon stands still like he can hit a corner three is so infuriating…

I just really hate how bad we are defensively. Jumping at three-pointers, getting beat off the dribble just a couple things. Please just stay on your feet and move them.

We have nobody to guard Suder… JJ certainly can’t, he is not big enough. I think I would go with Kuani. Of course, he would probably get three fouls in two minutes.

As I recall, that's how Boals played back in the day - not mature.

I thought Kuany really played well in the first half. Best I’ve seen him play.

Sure would be fun to ruin their perfect season in Athens.

Need a player or two (or three) to step up in the 2nd half and help Pav. That was as aggressive of a first half he's played in awhile.

As much heat as Sheldon takes on this board, Hadaway is challenging him for that not-so-coveted spot. He's the king of doing stupid shit when the team needs him most.
