How can Miami have 9 guys on the roster consistently make the three and we don’t have one? It is absolutely ridiculous how Miami has passed Ohio in basketball in every single aspect. And soon they will have a new arena.

With all that said, I have no idea how Buffalo did not foul up three with under 10 seconds left in regulation. I will never understand that coaching strategy. You always foul up three in that situation.

I agree with the foul strategy. Not sure why more coaches don't do it.

And, BTW, Miami being better than OHIO in basketball to the extent it is happening this year is UNACCEPTABLE!

Miami cracks the Top 25 at #25.

I know their schedule sucks, but we know they are damn good. The complete opposite of Ohio.

They’re having a crazy game against Kent State. They were lucky to get it to OT

After their back-to-back OT wins, Miami is up to #14 in the country in the KenPom “luck” category. Wouldn’t mind if their luck stayed with them until February 14th, 2026.

Miami is easy to watch because they do many basketball things well. On the other hand, yea.

Everything looks good when the ball goes in the hoop. They shoot 42 motherf***ing% from 3 as a team!!! We don't have a single player averaging that.

Basketball is a complex game but thinking back to all the good teams we've had the last two decades and every single one of them has shot well from 3 as a team with one or two guys who were elite from deep.

Seems like that's really important!

No.

And looking at their remaining schedule, Miami could very well pull of an undefeated regular season. They only get Akron and Kent once in the regular season. They have Toledo at home in March, but Toledo appears to be struggling again....of course...when they don't play Boals.

Pretty sure the 2002 Kent State team has the best MAC season of recent memory going 17-1 (I guess Akron did that last year too). It's crazy to think that team had 4 OOC losses, one of which was to a 5-23 Youngstown State squad. What the hell happened there?

Best OOC seasons since the turn of the century:

1999-2000 Ball State (10-1)
2003-2004 Western Michigan (12-1)
2013-2014 Toledo (12-1) - started the year 12-0 then lost at Kansas
2014-2015 CMU (10-1)
2018-2019 Buffalo (12-1)
2018-2019 Toledo (12-1)
2025-2026 Miami (12-0)

Best MAC seasons since the turn of the century:
2001-2002 Kent State (17-1)
2006-2007 Toledo (14-2)
2012-2013 Akron (14-2)
2012-2013 Ohio (14-2)
2018-2019 Buffalo (16-2)
2022-2023 Toledo (16-2)
2024-2025 Akron (17-1)
2025-2026 Miami (8-0 and counting)

God damn going back through this you realize how many times Toledo has absolutely blown great seasons.

“Doing it despite middle-of-the-MAC NIL”. No dollar amount mentioned, but it doesn’t seem like Miami is doubling us up in NIL money as many might think.

Miami announced they have sold out general public tickets for the 1/31 double-header which includes a game against the Ohio women and a men's game with NIU.

We are scheduled to play them on Saturday 2/14 but with two national TV slots on the 13th, it's a strong chance that game gets flexed. Either way, buy tickets soon if you plan on going.

This is great for the MAC. Miami's been fanless for too long....

Optimist, I have said this a number of times and it is proven to be true… In the college game now you have to be able to make threes and defend threes. If you can’t, you won’t be elite. If my memory is correct, the bobcats are in the 300 area of both making and defending the three. Not a good situation.

Men of Steele overcoming the odds
Though Miami's overall strength of schedule is woeful (339th out of 365 teams), the slope of difficulty in getting to 20-0 is reflected in its Strength of Record ranking (21) and its Wins Above Bubble mark (29th). Those are objective indicators of how well Miami has done against its schedule vs. what the average bubble team would've done to this point.

In SOR, the RedHawks rank better than the likes of 16-4 Clemson, 14-4 Villanova, 14-5 St. John's, 13-5 Louisville, 12-6 Tennessee and many more.

And this isn't the richest program in the MAC, either. Not by a long shot. Miami is somewhere in the middle of the pack of the league from an NIL perspective, well behind the likes of UMass, in addition to in-state peers Akron, Kent State and Ohio. Which makes the most surprising thing about this run all the more special: We have a 20-0 mid-major team in 2026.

From CBS Sports see above!

We have a 21-0 mid-major, and one of two remaining undefeated teams in the country.

I just bought my tickets to 2/13 to Millett. BTW, you can round up to the nearest increment of $15 to donate to their NIL fund when you buy on their website.

Watched 2 Miami games now. Nice to see their fans pack the place. Having quite the moment. But they are definitely beatable. Can’t wait to see the boys face these vineyard viners in the Convo.

NIU was up 5 with 15 to go and Miami ended on a 38-9 run.

Both of us fortunate to not have to face Zips in the JAR.

If OHIO's Hadaway and Simmons duplicate away Buffalo then Mellet Hall will be a can't miss battle zone.
