We are a very young squad this year, and we will get much better as we mature.
We're starting three academic juniors and an academic senior. The first man off the bench is a junior. Keely, Baltic, and Cooper have played in every single game for almost three seasons now. I don't see how we're very young.
OK, maybe not VERY young, but it is a young team. Other than Belton, we've got no seniors, and lots of underclassmen seeing plenty of playing time -- including two Freshmen --Taylor and Goard and four sophomores -- Kellogg, Johnson, Hall and Smith. To me that's a young team. Some of the newcomers seem to me to have great potential. I'm particularly high on Taylor and Kellogg, but the whole bunch of underclassmen are a very special group of young men. Slick Rick has really shown a new level to his game recently. I'll stand by my general assertion that this is a young team that will get better in the next two years. While I'm not discounting the possibility of a run this year, I think 2012-13 will really be the high water mark of the Groce Era. If we could only find a dominating big man I think we'd have real top 20 prospects.
