Great Turnout!  I don't think ESPN3 ever announced the attendance.

We had 25+ at the game watch in DC for this game.

Loved watching Reggie Rankin announce this game for ESPN.

Pleasantly surprised by the turnout tonight. Also pleasantly surprised by the success of the blackout.

Unbelievable atmosphere tonight for a game that most of us complained about. There was a definite "buzz" around town and on campus this week, and it showed with a great and enthusiastic crowd. Nice job by the athletic dept. in promoting this game and creating excitement...one of the bigger crowds in recent memory that was not Dad's Weekend or Gary Trent Day.

That was a great crowd and a great atmosphere tonight.  Even though I will say I kinda felt bad for the kid that got hounded the entire night.

Only caught snippets of the game, but was very pleasantly surprised by the crowd.  Nice showing.

Yeah.  Being on national TV next week vs. 'kron is a bad idea.  Today helped prove that.

Couldn't watch ESPN3 because we don't subscribe to TWC, but I saw the internet feed from the Bobcat website.  I was impressed with the size of the crowd for a Saturday night in Athens against a team nobody knew anything about.  Too bad UNCA didn't have all its horses; the game would've been closer, although the outcome probably wouldn't have changed.c

Agree! Truly great crowd and wonderful atmosphere for a game.  Crowd size was impressive expecially since the hockey game siphoned off many additional fans.  Still think this is the best entertainment in the area.  Too bad so few know about it.  Also kudos to the jump rope kids at 1/2 time

Agreed.  I think the 7:00 start actually helped attendance considering how nice the weather was yesterday.  Might have been a tougher sell to go inside to watch a game when the temperature was 50 at 2:00.  After Dad's weekend, Sibs has consistently been the next biggest draw each year.  As for the blackout, too bad the game wasn't on tv.  It would have made quite an impression.  Nice to see the dance team back on the floor too.

I will happily eat my words that this was a virtually meaningless game (I still think it unfortunately does not help us where the postseason's concerned).  Glad to see the near 10K turnout and the crowd support!  Hopefully we can carry some momentum from the game out on to the road these next two weeks.

Of course, because Saturday of Sibs weekend and Sunday night are equally good timeslots, and Ohio fans are known for not being fickle at all and showing up in consistently impressive numbers throughout the season no matter the situation. :p

Mark it was a very good and engaged crowd - particularly the first half.  But in all fairness, there was nowhere close to 10,000 there last night.  (Time to duck).  Even McKinney agreed with my estimate of 9150 "announced."

Great crowd.  I did agree with Swank that the paid attendance would probably be about 9100.  I thought there were about 8500 actually there.  Paid = 9900 means that there were about 1400 "no-shows".

Crowd MUCH more engaged in the game than I expected.  UNCA has to take that as something of a compliment.

Great crowd...I really think we were heading to about 12k for the Akron game (especially if we find a way to win at Buffalo) before it got moved to Sunday night.  Hopefully we are pleasantly surprised with a 10k crowd again.

Andrew, if there are actually 6500 in those seats, I'll be shocked.  I hope I'm wrong but I know the three seats next to me will be empty and they haven't been empty all season.
