If you are attempting to call the OHIO ticket office for tickets to the MAC Tourney good luck. It seems to be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day! WTF!

Martin Luther King Day is in January, so somehow I doubt that.

Oh yea, try 1-800-575-CATS and see what you get on this 5th day of March! Maybe it's just my phone. I started this process at 8:30 am and called every 10 or 15 minutes trying last at 10:30 to the same recording. Just reporting, you decide!

Can we please leave out the childish "WTF" stuff from here?  Not saying you don't have reason to be frustrated, but we can still be civil adults can't we?

"JUst reporting" is what you did in this post. Who, What , Where , When and Why. THe background material puts it in great context for the reader

NOw it makes more sense and puts the whole thing in perspective.  Thanks for the update.  University tix obviously dropped the ball on this one. In my business I constantly have to oversee if my staff is doing the little things like this. Drive s you nuts as a business owner when staff can not think on their own and follow through. The effort to empower the staff is often met with ennui and lack of personal pride and motivation.....happens on almost all teams despite the passion of the leaders. THe saying "it's hard to find good help" is laughable but seems to ring true far and wide.

Using a recording that's bordering on being on TWO Months out-of-date deserves a WTF be it from OHIO sports or any "legitimate" business entity. No problem with the ticket office being "closed" this morning although one could have  a reasonable expectation, that the ticket office would have been prepared for calls from fans wanting to BUY tickets since this is the week of the MAC tourney.  Just sayin.

Sometimes they move around the day that they actually "observe" the holiday. I think that last year the university offices were closed several months before President's Day in observance of that holiday.

While this does happen, MLK was observed day of by the University.

I'm actually glad this thread was here as it reminded me to call the ticket office (which I did while receiving excellent service from someone named Katie, I'd like to mention).

Perhaps the Ticket Office was over-inundated with calls this morning, the ticket office lines only handle so many, and the overflow was being directed to voicemail by their technology? If that was the case and the last day the office was closed was MLK Day, it would seem to serve as a reasonable explanation for the experience you had.

I actually did get thru to the ticket office late this morning. It appeared while they were processing my request that their computers were running quite slowly. I hope it was because tons of OHIO fans were buying tickets! That said, even IF the phone lines were inundated with calls this morning, a good thing by the way, having a 2 month old recording that the office was closed ain't GOOD for business. Wouldn't a "all lines are busy now -could you please hold - or feel free to call back at a later time message"? Just sayin.

It's an internet message board. People use abbreviations when they communicate in an informal online setting such as a college sports message board. I have no idea why in the hell you are actually complaining about this.

I'm sure they didn't plan the SNAFU.  I had a similar thing happen to me (or more likely by me).  When I went to Vegas in January I recorded a new out-of-office message and even listened to the recording. When I got back I had several messages from people asking how the beach was in August.    Somehow it had reverted back to my previous OOO message. Life goes on.
