Even though it's not over, I just wanted to thank the players and coaches for bringing us a memorable and enjoyable season.  This team is really fun to watch...even during the frustrating times.  Next season should be even moreso.  Good luck in the tourney, guys.

24-7 is the second best win total all time for Ohio basketball and a better winning percentage than the Trent years of 25-8 and 24-10. There is a good chance the Cats could set an all-time win record this season if they win the MAC tournament or if they win a few games in the CBI/CIT. I would have to say the job Groce has done at Ohio is starting to compare well with Danny Nee rather than TOS which is a good thing.

Can't complain about 24-7, but that fatal week up north with Toledo and EMU really make you think what could have been.  But oh well...I am hoping we end up with around 27-28 wins!

Great regular season.  This team gritted out a ton of wins this year.  And, while it wasn't always a thing of beauty, the record is damn impressive.

Hoping for a great post season as well.

I think its one of our better MAC regular seasons in a long time and strong non-conference record. Defensively this is one of our better teams.  This team will have some high expectations next year and should schedule to match those expectations non-conference.  We blew enough games to lose out on the NCAA at-large and high profile bracketbuster. Definately a huge improvement over Groce's first 3 teams in regular season play.....

MAC East record was 7-3 that was our best division record in a long long time.  That is how you get bye's in the MAC. 8-0 home record in the MAC outstanding. We let a couple games get away from us and really is the difference between Ohio and the #1 seed. We are right there with Akron, Kent State, and UB as the MAC top teams. We just had a couple games that we lost that we couldn't get back.

Lots of improvement from game 1 until game 31 with this team. This team despite no seniors put  up 24 wins. You gotta think we are the favorite in the MAC next year as this team was so close to becoming the team we all hoped for years.  We established home court advantage this year and that has to carry over to next year with a more difficult non-conference schedule.

A favorite, not sure about THE favorite. Akron returns a heck of a team as well.  They lose Cvetenovic and McClanahan but everybody else of consequence returns.  They also have a pretty good class coming in.  Buffalo and Kent both lose a lot of talented seniors so they won't be highly rated before the season.

The Cats finished the regular season 17 games above .500. If you take back the Toledo, EMU and Akron games would have given the Cats the regular season title than we are setting at a commanding 27-4 record. That is how close were were to having an astounding record this season. With the way the brackets are set in the MAC tournament the record tying 25th program win would set up against BG or UT on their third game, the 26th record breaking win would be vs. Buffalo and then winning the MAC tourney is 27 and the cherry on top.

Might be addition by subtraction.

Has anyone seen the kid from Waverly that Akron got?  Did we go after him?  What I've read is that he can shoot from the parking lot.

He often does, if the game I saw is an indication.

Agreed . . . he's more a Nee than a TOS.  Now when the old farts like me start comparing him with Jim Snyder, you'll know he's really arrived.  This will be followed shortly by a whippersnapper-written post speculating on JG's next job.

Things never go as expected in the MAC...but if they did, we would see Ohio and Akron in an epic battle next season hovering around 14-2 in the conference.  Could be our best chance in a while to be a 2 bid league.  Perhaps it won't go so smoothly...but I would be shocked if 1 of the 2 did not win the conference.  The MAC would be smart to schedule that matchup as the season finale.
