Sorry, but no way in hell should Justin Greene be on the first team ahead of Rian Pearson.

That was my first reaction too. Pierson's stats are much better, and this team should have had two guards at least.

Too bad for Pierson he doesn't play in Northeast Ohio, so his chances were limited.

I was tweeting the same thing to Jeremy Guy and Rob C.  Who selects a first team all conference with four guys that are all basically either 4's or 5's?   I also contested that the second team, because of that reason, would beat the first team.  Really, really pitiful in that regard. It's like selecting a baseball all-star team and leaving out the shortstop and the catcher.

They aren't putting together an All Start team though.  The five highest vote getters should make 1st team.  I don't have a problem with the makeup of the team per se. Just that Justin Greene didn't belong on it ahead of Rian Pearson.

Congratulaions to Cooper.  Well deserved.

Tighten up a few things and Cooper is serious MAC POY candidate next year.

I disagree with this in regard that the conference's true "First Team" should at least include two guards.  I agree that Pearson should be on the first team over either Greene or McRae.

Hadn't really noticed this until I saw it on the Zips board, but the 6th man of the year didn't even make honorable mention.

And why should he? Two Akron starters weren't even honorable mention, why should their 6th man be?

How good do you think Ziegler is?

Seems to have good scoring and rebounding numbers. However, in the half-dozen times I've seen CMU on TV the past two years I've seen a player that forces things w/ little success. He has hit, unofficially, what seems like 15% of his shots w/ numerous turnovers. And I wonder how accurate Mix is when he says Ziegler was offered a scholarship from UNC. I liked seeing him sign w/ CMU (always like seeing MAC teams get highly-regarded recruits) but I don't think he has lived up to his hype.

Am I missing something? I know a few games in two seasons is a small sample so I was wondering if he is better than what I've seen.

Watching the game last night I saw the difference between and uber-talented player (Ziegler) and an uber-driven player (Pearson).   Ziegler is a nice player but he seems like a guy who shouldn't be "The Guy".  Pearson demands to be the guy.

Not sure if UNC offered a scholarship to Ziegler but UCLA definitely did.

It's not nice to make fun of the geographically dyslexic.
