So far, two of the games are going about as expected. WMU-BSU is neck and neck and I thought Toledo would beat Miami by a comfortable margin. At the half CMU is only down six to BG. I thought BG would run them out of the gym early. Also at the half, NIU is beating EMU 18-11. When I saw that score, I was like

All good games at the moment, between 8 and 10 minutes to go. It's CMU by 2, NIU by 6, Toledo by 6 and Ball State-WMU tied.

Try as they might, the Chippewas couldn't quite give away the game to the Falcons. Missed the front end of two one-and-ones, split two free throws, fouled Crawford with 3 seconds left and up 2, but he missed the second.

When is the last time the 11 and 12 (or 12 and 13 if we have to go back to Marshall days) won in the first round?  I don't think it has happened in the past few years but I may also be completely full of crap.

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, this is the first time a double digit seed has advanced past the first round at all since Ohio in 2003.  11 and 12 won in 2002, but there were 13 teams at the time.

Many seemed scared to play BG or Toledo. Well....BG gone and CMU beat Toledo 85-69 on January 7 (I know...I know...Toledo playing much better now....blah..blah...blah).
