Watt was tremendous tonight. Ohio's bigs getting into foul trouble (and not having Goard to alleviate that problem) certainly helped Watt's cause inside, but make no mistake - he was great. That said.......
I spent the better part of the past decade watching another great player wearing a white jersey in The Q trying to win championships while carrying 4 other guys. It didn't work for him either. This is a team game. Our guards shot the lights out in the first half. Keely made several big plays inside for the second night in a row. Ivo knocked down jumpers in crunch time.
It wasn't pretty, but it was a team effort that ended in success. I love that.

'Cat Nick--agree that tomorrow could be a big night for the 'Cats. Hoops and football are definite now. I suspect that even the casual fan knows. My best friend from The Ohio University was pm'ing me during the ESPNU thrashing of 'kron on Oscar night--and he is not a sports fan at all.
I thought that we did a nice job of going inside in the 2nd half. I don't think that we shot many 3's in the second. Good; we didn't get enamored of them. We stuck to solid team offense which resulted in a pretty good number of shots at the rim.
The difference tonight was probably the handful of fast breaks that we got. A depth and determination thing.

I would expect some meltdowns about the referees. However, they might want to revisit the second half in terms of bitching about the foul calling. The Bulls did not get their 5th team foul until 31 seconds to go in the game. Including that 5th foul the final 5 fouls were all "intentional" fouls. I think there were a few more opportunities for the whistle to blow... HMMMMM. Maybe that is what they are melting down about....If they had called more fouls on the Bulls and we had shot those at 33% then perhaps the Bulls would have won.

Bulls fought hard...the 1st half onslaught was RIDICULOUS. We have a chance of making some noise granted we win the next one...this team has the makings of Sweet 16..however I think a team with 2 or 3 bigs will hurt us. Saturday nite is for it all oir a what a nice long run in the NIT..this is an NIT Championship level team IF they lose in the MACC and can recharge themselves for a NIT run...IF..Next year if this guy from Missou is as good as they say I see a ranked team for the majority of the year. I gotta give more props to DJ COOPER..this guy is TOUGH AS NAILS...seriously he handles the ball like a yoyo..and granted he jacks a few threes and has a few turnovers ..point guards like him are a dime a dozen..can you imagine if he hadve went to Baylor honestly??? We are lucky to have him and hopefully Stevie Taylor picks up where he left off and it looks like he can be the guy after DJ. Go Bobcats!
