With the post being pinned, I edited it to include MAC and some OOC opponent games of note as well. (Basically games on TV or bigger opponents.) We can just use this to discuss non-Ohio games this season. All times are eastern time and spreads are from ESPN or Vegas Insider. I also tried to list whatever events, tournaments, neutral sites, etc... as well as whatever TV / Streaming options I could find. If I missed anything or we want to add other game sof note, just let me know and I'll edit the post.

NIU is probably going to lose to a team picked 9th in the Division 2 Great Lakes Athletic Conference. That might end up being the worst loss the MAC has taken in decades. Otherwise, its been a pretty good night for the MAC even if it was painful for us. A loss on a last second three at Belmont is not a bad loss for the MAC's first loss. WMU will probably lose to Minnesota but they aren't getting beaten badly that's not a bad loss. But NIU's loss would be just horrendous. NIU might not win a game if they can't beat Illinois-Springfield.

Some impressive wins for the MAC tonight but a loss might have been the most impressive MAC outcome. WMU loses by 1 at Minnesota. Stat of the night: WMU hits all 4 of its free throw attempts while Minnesota makes 9 of 23.

Typical MAC visit to B10 home arena. 23 to 4 disparity in FT attempts.

Cleveland State lost to Notre Dame by four. Uh, that's Notre Dame College. Poor three point and free throw shooting, turnovers, and an obscene number of fouls for the Vikings. They'll play Cincinnati on Thursday before heading to Athens.

What was once a pretty good team got hit hard by transfers when Gates left. Most notably, Gates took his two best players with him.

- Kent beat Baldwin Wallace 76-55
- Western topped Goshen 99-62
- Central fell to Marquette 97-73
- Cleveland State lost to UC 69-58
- USC beat Alabama State 96-58

Earlier today Detroit fell to Boston College 70-66 despite leading for the majority of the game.

MAC "newcomer" of the year in the early polls is UT's AJ Edu. Seems like it's been a decade since Edu was a promising freshman big man for the Rockets before suffering one leg surgery after another following that first season. Look for him to add 2 things UT has lacked the last few years - depth and size.

UT struggled early v. UAB tonight in Philly, turning the ball over 7 times before the first media time out, before beginning to outplay UAB in the 2nd half. They now lead by 4 with 12 minutes left in the game.

Akron v. Mississippi St. in 2nd game in Philly as part of Barstool Invitational.

Another thing or two: RayJ Dennis is the most under-rated PG in the MAC, a league with several quality point guards. . . Tyler Cochran is now wearing the bottom of his shorts rolled up (too high?) for this third MAC team. First at NIU, last year at Ball St., and now for UT. . . this game is not unlike a March Madness game. . . UT loses Rollins to NBA but will be a more dangerous team this year. . . impressive win for UT v. top 50 team. Akron can get another win v. another top 50 team.

Another impressive early conference win as MAC bottom feeder BG wins at Oakland, one of the better teams in the Horizon. Seth Towns goes for 4 pts, 7 rb, 2 assists.

Akron's Enrique Freeman and Xavier Castenada is the best inside-outside duo in the MAC. Just don't think Groce has enough other weapons to help them out. They're going to miss Ali Ali Ali. Zips hanging tough with Miss. St.

The atmosphere for UM/EMU is like a state final four high school game. Neutral site, big lous crowds for both schools. Bates is showing out.
