For the 2nd time in 3 years, I have to work the night of OHIO playing in MAC Championship game. At 8 PM,  I will be shutting off the phone, turning off the TV in the office and shutting down the internet. Recording the game at the house and will watch from start to finish at midnight.

Did the same thing in 2010 and that worked out pretty well. Don't want to mess with the karma. My discipline to pull this off again will be put to the ultimate test.

To all of the Bobcats heading to Cleveland tonight and watching across the country..be loud and proud. I'll be joining ya around midnight.

Go Bobcats!

Incredible...simply incredible.

So glad I avoided the score until I could enjoy it at midnight without already knowing the outcome.

Some quick thoughts.

DJ Cooper>Zeke Marshall

Marshall is a complete thug and cry baby. There is a reason he ended up at Akron and not at Pitt.
Cooper is a beast. Athens, Ohio is the home of one of the best point guards in the country. Just think how much he's accomplished in 3 years and we get him for one more year. Bobcat nation is blessed.

John Groce>Keith Dambrot

My heart tells me he stays for one more year, but my head says he must go and strike while the iron is hot. Has to be be a job though where he can win a national title. If not, he has a top 25 caliber team returning for one more season. Please don't go to Nebraska or South Carolina. Something like Illinois I understand.

Depth. We have what so many other teams don't have. Hall, Johnson and Keely making so many plays. Hoping Stevie T can regain some of his mojo, but understand his minutes getting cut in March.

Heart. The charge taken by Offutt was the play of the game. Even bigger than the late 3's by Coop and Baltic.

Thank you Bobcats for giving us a dream season...and it's not over yet.

O-H-I-O!!!!

You're right about Offutt's charge.  Not a highlight reeler, but when you've got four fouls and you step in with the game on the line, that's cajones.  Walter wasn't able to contribute much because of the foul trouble, but he came up big when it counted.

And Offutt took another charge that wasn't called in crunch time. I can't remember the Akron players involved, but somebody came sprinting down the lane on a fast break and dished out to the corner by the Akron bench, where his teammate drained a 3 that got the Zips to within a couple of points. The only problem was the guy leading the break never put on the ... umm... brakes after he passed, and he steamrolled Offutt in the paint before the shot went up.

It happened in plain sight of 2 officials, but apparently they both followed the ball. Groce called a timeout, and those two officials huddled up after. I'd like to think they realized at that point that they blew the call.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure Offutt had 4 fouls at that point, so it was an incredibly gutsy move to stand in to take a charge there. Too bad his effort wasn't rewarded.

Lost in the shuffle of the last few nights... we have enough depth we did this with a player at home.  Hope Goard can get things squared away -- I can't imagine how much it must've killed him not to be in Cleveland.
