So just for kicks I thought I would look at the Columbus Dispatch's website for any mention of our big win.......not a syllable outside of an AP wire story that has Norfolk State and Lehigh in the title.  There is an 8 page article about what tOSU is having for breakfast tomorrow though!

We did get homepage love from the Cincinnati Enqurier and the Cleveland Plain Dealer though!

Dispatch, who has probably the single largest concentration of Ohio Alums living in their market, is a fail.

Tim May is in Nashville, I'd have to think they have something in print tomorrow.

Doesn't look like they update their sports page. All the stories were loaded overnight. Not like there are new OSU pieces in there either. Looks more like a company decision.

Deep breaths

If its not tOSU news, The Ohio State University Dispatch doesn't care about it. That said, I have to believe they'd want to put in a story on how we beat Michigan. But as was posted by others, we'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out. Apparently these Columbus boys are a little slower than their Cincinnati and Cleveland counterparts.

Other then a few high school basketball stories, the Dispatch has not updated the site with stuff that will run in the Saturday edition. Some folks need to chill out, always looking for an excuse to bash something.

We made the front page of 7am. Nice green and white picture of their home page. Of course a lot of ties back to A&M trying to imply I guess that they had something to do with our victory.

It's kind of nice everyone will be wearing green in honor of our victory today. Let's keep rolling.

Picture of DJ on A1, more pix and Tim May story on Sports page 1 including a "real" Ohio reference.

As I walked through Naionwide  in Bobcat gear last night after OUr game ended the reception was fantastic. Well, a lot of MSU fans helped that out but "Go Ohio" was the order of the day there.

An O H -  I O chant in OUr behalf went nowhere thankfully

Well, when they finally posted the story, it contains a lead that can make us all beam and jump for joy:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ohio — the real McCoy, that is — pulled an upset again in the NCAA Tournament, and this time it did it to that team up north.

With Walter Offutt applying the final touches — two free throws with just over six seconds left — the 13th-seeded Bobcats held off No. 4 Michigan 65-60 last night in a Midwest Regional second-round game.

“It’s probably the best thing that ever happened in my life,” Offutt said.

Offutt, a transfer from Ohio State in the 2009-2010 season, wasn’t eligible to play when the Bobcats upset Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament that season. Last night, he applied the final brushstrokes with the strong Ohio contingent in the crowd chanting, “We are Ohio! We are Ohio!”

what's funny is some of the comments from Buckeye fans saying basically that now Michigan can't call them Ohio anymore. They just boxed themselves out from referring to themselves as Ohio and don't even realize it. Well done OHIO, well done.

Buckeye fans only care about two thing and that is beating Michigan ... and somebody else beating Michigan. Well besides tattoos, etc...

To be honest, I am willing to bet the only reason the dispatch ran such a big article/big picture was because of Michigan losing!

Does anybody here think that if Michigan would have won that Ohio University would have gotten that kind of coverage in the C-Bus Dispatch? No

Compare your game on Sunday and see if you get just as big of coverage or exposure from them along with the Buckeye fans.

Good luck to you and wish you well next game.

A commenter on Yahoo asked if they're not suppose to call O$U "Ohio" then why is the Shoe "Ohio Stadium"?  I just thinks its great that the junior state university should honor the senior state university by naming their stadium after us.

Maybe the solution is for the great school in Athens to be called "Ohio, Sr." and the upstart in Columbus to be called "Ohio, Jr."  Works for me.

Our (Ohio University's) football stadium was also originally named "Ohio Stadium" when constructed in 1927.  It was eventually renamed, "Peden Stadium"

Yes, and you can still see the large stone that says "Ohio Stadium."  If you face the outside of the stadium from the press box side and look to the right of the Ping Tower about two-thirds of the way up the brick wall you'll see a large rectangular stone that says "Ohio Stadium."

So you are saying that we wouldn't have gotten as much publicity had we lost? Brilliant!!

Hold the phone.

So you're telling me, that a central Ohio newspaper wouldn't cover a team from another state extensively if they lost?

I was beginning to wonder why I didn't see any coverage of Purdue upsetting Saint Mary's in the Dispatch.  Please, share more of your knowledge to us.
