I hear no discussion on this option. An Ohio - OSU first round game would be nice in Columbus. (Just Sayin)

More likely the Rockets taking that slot.

I don't think Akron will get an NIT bid let alone Ball State or Ohio. I don't think Ohio State will either. Boals pretty much said we are going to decline a lower teir invitation. We might have drawn OSU if we were willing but I expect with their injuries that OSU will decline too.

Toledo to the NIT. Akron, Ohio, and Ball State can keep playing if they want. As the depth the past two years is not the same as in the past I don't think invites are headed anyone else's way.

Have to agree that Toledo is the better candidate. Darn!

The regular season champ Toledo is guaranteed a spot in the NIT.

The NIT is even more anti-mid major than the NCAA tournament. We never had a prayer at a bid.

My view on NIT/CBI/WhateverTheyMakeUPNext:
another opportunity to get better, another day to gel on the floor, another day to work on things for next year.

Of course this is all moot, as I'm not even sure Ohio State is gonna be on the NIT's first list. Probably not even the second. Name recognition might get them in though.

I doubt OU will even be anywhere near the CBI's first list.

From what I heard in our postgame presser it doesn't seem likely we will accept a postseason bid this year. Focus on getting to the Dance next year.

This thread is a perfect microcosm of our fan base.

Toledo is guaranteed a spot and Holtmann said he is not in favor of playing in the postseason due to injuries (though I assume that changes).

Uninformed and lacking knowledge. Plus we can add a Marshall Administrator as our President to our substandard resume. Fits like a glove.

Awful.

Don't forget delusional. We're a 19-14 mid-tier MAC team. We're not even close to an NIT bid.

Sometimes post-season invitations are not based on who is most deserving.

Miss. St. vs Pitt in a play-in game? Vandy beat both of them. And beat UK twice in 2 weeks. And swept Florida. Hung 70 on Arky in one half... etc etc...

Youngstown State gets to host Oklahoma State. That's neat.

They also lost 14 games. IMO, this should be about to whom you have lost just as much as who have to beaten. They lost to a lot of teams. My math says the average bubble team would have only lost 12 against that schedule.

Uninformed, lacking knowledge, delusional

So we are like every other fan base in the college and pro ranks. Good to know.

No MAC schools in the CBI. Cleveland State is in it, though.

Also of note, no CBI bid for Detroit even after their organizers kinda teased it. Looks like the Maravich record stands.

Seems like quite a few people are no longer interested in the CBI business model.

That YSU - OSU game should be fun. I wish I could go up on Wednesday. OK ST probably hasn't played in a gym that size maybe ever.

What IS the business model?

Michigan vs Detroit Mercy was a GIFT for ticket sales and tv revenue (comparatively at least).

Guys. We're a 5th place team from the mighty MAC. We made the semis.

I'd say we're a lock for the NIT. Probably looking at like a 2 seed. Maybe hosting either of our in-state rivals Cincy or OSU in Athens.

I heard Boals say he's done playing Wiz and DW3 is ready for 40 minutes of action. I think that makes us favorites to make it to Madison Square Garden. Would be a cool experience to play in Michael Jordan's former home court.

Nuff said.
