When will we find out if they accepted a bid to the CBI?

I was rooting for Toledo as well until the post-game Todd K interview and he just walked away after the reporter brough up not going to the dance in 43 years.
Got a laugh outta that but I would root for Toledo before Kron or Cant anytime!

Way to fight, this was never our season. RayJ Dennis is damn good.

I’m really excited about Jaylin, AJB, and Elmore next season. Another year of Miles. Reasons for optimism. Everyone else that’s supposed return; eh, I think I’m ok if a few landed elsewhere.

Enjoyed the game thread comments and perspectives this season.
Based on how little Miles played in the two tournament games, I'd be surprised if he hangs around. He had a very good OU career and played with class the whole time. It would be tough to be the fourth guard after that. Those other three can play but what will we do for a big man or two or three next year?

Boals in post game interview "Our season is over". Banged up players etc. Makes sense to me.

Sickness for Brown. Didn't practice all week. Sure sounds like he'll be back.

It's funny. Last year, we had no business playing in the CBI. This year it would have made sense with the young guys, but with the season starting in Spain and these guys banged up and sick....season over....good call.

Portal season my guy. Time to take advantage of our early season exit and hit the ground running.

After this 16 game run by Hunter...I'm becoming more concerned he will get P5 looks.
Tough to say, I’m sure we’ll know in the next week who’s out and who’s in.

I was watching on DVR. He was so bad I had to mute. Which is saying a lot.

Doubt we have to wait that long. Though maybe. Lots of other announcements have happened almost minutes after their teams lost it seems. I don't think we have anyone THAT unhappy though

Like I said in the post above, I watched on DVR and missed the first ~8 minutes of game time. Overall, very proud of our squad. Jaylin Hunter balled out. Toledo did a great down shutting down DW3 (except on the boards).

The problem was we could never get close enough. It felt like we were suddenly down by one, then it was back to an 8 pt Toledo lead.

Frankly, all we needed was a shot or two from Clayton or BRod to sink and this is a different game.

And let's be honest....we've been waiting for that clutch Broderick shot to sink for two years now. It never happened. Appreciate his hustle and defense, but still mind-boggling how he completely lost his shot since hitting the dagger against Virginia in March 2021.

I could tell tonight when he had the ball the confidence just wasn't there.

Love B-Rod though.

And it’s not like Clayton lit it up this year either. A case of fools gold. If you remove him feasting against non-tourney teams BG CMU EMU and WMU he was 13-45 from 3 in the MAC season. He was atrocious tonight against Toledo and overmatched. It’s why I could not understand why Boals played Clayton for a stretch in the second half over Baker.

Not sure which UT forward/center Wiz can guard. Maybe AJ Edu. Certainly not Shumate or Milner. Both would take him outside the arc and hit the 3 or drive by him. Perhaps Boals can find his minutes when Edu, more of a low-block player, is on the floor.
Can he really guard any of them? I'm trying to get my mind around a reason why Dwight would play less than 33-35 minutes tonight unless he's in foul trouble.
I love Boals, but in a one and done game, to play DWIII only 24 minutes when he wasn’t in foul trouble is criminal. This was the fear going into the game and it played out. Arguably our best player saw the court for 24 minutes against the best team in the league on a 16 game heater. Make it make sense.

I'm really proud of this team and I think we played very well tonight against a superior Toledo team. Just when I thought things were about to get out of hand, we'd hit shots and get it back within a couple points. I think it was definitely a winnable game, we just didn't get the shots to go our way.

I'll be rooting for Toledo tomorrow to make the Dance!

Agree on all points. In the end, Toledo was just better. We needed someone like Clayton or AJ or James to have a huge game and it just didn’t happen.

Would like to see Toledo win it now.

I think he knows Wilson and has seen him every day in practice and knows he can't play Wilson more than 25 minutes or so.

I remember in 2021 as the 5th seed I though that we were as good as anyone. This team worked its way to the point where they were only a 5.5 point underdog in the MAC semi-final. Yeah, we had a somewhat realistic chance to win but we were definitely playing a better team. I didn't have a lot of hope to win the tournament going in and I am not disappointed. Ohio had a pretty good year considering what we lost.

Sing no sad songs. Good year and look forward to next year. As my high school coach used to say, “ you don’t need to look at the scoreboard to know how well you played”.

Thought we played hard and with heart. Was a winnable game but we needed to can a few more 3s. Toledo had the stronger personnel with the biggest difference being in athleticism. Big guys can jump and move. The Roderick play in the last 5 secs said it all. A hair off target lob and he didn’t even put up a decent attempt. James, Brown, Hunter, and Brown have the potential to put this team in good stead next year but no doubt we need a big jump from Izuma and a couple other athletic bigs not on the roster currently to get to 25 wins. On the not so excited side are the other 2 freshmen and Wiz. I don’t know if there is any reason to expect anything out of these 3 guys. Just didn’t see any improvement over 33 games. Not likely to happen in the off-season.

I’m sure Boals wants to play Dwight every minute but it’s been said before, Dwight’s knee still has some issues when he plays extended minutes. You gotta take into account his health and his playing future.

Pretty much the outcome I expected. It was what I hope is a true down year for this program, but the team still managed to finish among the top four. The problem is it was clearly the fourth-best team left in Cleveland. They had their chances and made plenty of mistakes but ultimately they were outclassed by Toledo and the better team won. Hard to have regrets, unlike some MAC Tournament exits.

I hope Boals learns how to make the portal work for him more than it works against him this offseason, because that's clearly the path going forward.
