They are clearly the much better and deeper team. However, we have nothing to lose and have been playing great for a nice long stretch here.

What we need is another great game from the bench. If we can force turnovers like we did yesterday and maybe get to the FT line a bit more, I believe we can win. I am really starting to trust our offense if we keep it close. We have a lot of guys who can get into double digits.
In my opinion, besides solid D, what we need is for the freshmen and Baker to play more like they did yesterday, along with having Hunter be really hot. I'd be giving Dwight, AJ, Elmore, and Jaylin all A LOT of minutes tonight.

YOU might not think they should be sweating a 5 seed, but take into consideration:

(1) They haven't been to the NCAA Tournament since 1980
(2) This is now their 3rd straight conference regular season championship and fourth in Tod Kowalczyk's tenure.
(3) They've lost to worst teams than this current Ohio team before in the MAC tournament as the higher seed.
(4) Ohio is playing with house money.

ALL of the pressure is on Toledo in this spot.
As a native Toledoan and parents who are engaged alumni of Toledo, can confirm all of this and then some. More afraid of Toledo blowing it tonight than anything. They have gotten antsy about the Kowalczyk era when it's been good teams but not finishing in Cleveland

Mulberry, I appreciated your post! it got my blood flowing.. OU Country, If I were in the CBus i would join you. I hope you find some Green somewhere. I dig the enthusiasm here... I have posted negative thoughts about a big in the program, but we were desperate B/c. We didn't know if DW3 was coming back... Our guards looked amazing with the D yesterday. Intensity. The locker room and team vibes make such a difference this time of year.. I think there is a decent chance of winning today.(don't want jinx, Toledo is solid) Go Cats!

I mean spot on. Dwight's minutes have been limited all season. Why is there this golden rule that The Whiz comes in at the 16:20 minute mark? This is Toledo. This is the MAC Tournament semifinals. If he's not in foul trouble...we need DW3 on the floor for 32-36 minutes minimum.

OU is 12-0 when scoring 80+

Toledo is 5-5 when giving up 80+

Hopefully, AJB is still hot because we're gonna need to get out and run. Push it up the floor. Hit threes. Stay out of foul trouble. Keep the pedal down.

Given Milner and Schumate are only 6’7; this seems like a game where we could and should smaller with Clayton at the 5 when Dwight isn’t in.

Biggest game of the year and The Whiz played a ridiculous 5 minutes in the first 11 minutes. For those who defend his minutes and play, I will never understand. Can’t understand sitting Wilson that much and it went from 8-6 to 21-12 in the blink of an eye.

Taking Hunter out at end of half was a killer. Can’t take him off the floor folks in a one and done game. Especially not in that situation.

Shooting 35 and 9 turnovers, only down 6. That's ok. Both those things have to improve to win.

O-boards - Todd K was right, so many were one one possession.
