It doesn't even feel like AJ has played enough games to be eligible.

Gonna be a hell of a player for Florida State next season.

Personally I don't think he is going to transfer soon - Talking to him on campus he seems to be really liking Athens as a whole. But I'm prepared to eat those words if he continues playing well.

With ya Cellis. I don't think he would have left after this year anyway, but I think the fact that he's not playing a full-season this year and has a ton more to prove next year slows down the P5 talk for now. He genuinely seems to love it here just based off body language with his teammates.

Bass the last 4 games has averaged 12 points a game and 5.75 assists per game in 3 of 4 losses. Two of his better games in this 4 game stretch were during away game losses at Toledo and Kent.

If it is coaches who do the voting I would think he'd get Rocket and Flash votes for being able to perform well in their houses.

The data I've seen suggests that it's actually pretty rare that players are transferring "up", and that the vast majority of transfers are players transferring down.

And I suspect the extra covid eligibility even inflated the "up" transfer numbers a bit.

I think the combo of Sears and BVP make this seem like it's going to be a regular occurrence, but so far the data gives decent reason to question that.

I'm not sure that every promising freshman in the MAC is automatically going to get a P5 offer. We'll see.

They all seem to be a very tight knit group - my social media guy sees them all the time at lunch hour in Boyd - I just hope we can find a way to keep AJB and Elmore here for four years. Would love to see a starting lineup of them next year especially if Miles decides to not use his COVID year.

If he can average double-digits his last five games, I think he'll give Bass a run.

After this performance by Bass, it will be tough to overcome for Elmore....agree.

Saturday is going to be difficult. Just have to find a way to win on the road.

Yes it will. Also interesting to see WMU have a solid young core of players - could be a sleeper in the future if they develop

Now a one horse race?

While Bass had another big scoring day, in OHIO games he has been a turnover machine with SIX each game!

Not impressed with Bass. He scores because he shoots a lot. 32% from the field and as many turnovers as assists. Really hope the voters don't just lazily reward his high amount of shots attempted.

Not impressed with his shooting stats either, but the voters will vote him in, just on his points per game. This is the MAC you know.

Go on and finish your post. Just saying you are not impressed is half the story. Who really impresses you? Who should the voters be voting for? Any other freshman finishing stronger?

During the last 8 games Bass is shooting 38% BUT if you take out his poor effort vs Ball State (2-17) he is shooting 44% and 41% from three. And 78% from the line on 31 of 40 so he is getting to the line often over this stretch while earning 34 assists and 24 turnovers.

Bass has been improving over the course of the season and his team is surprising some by potentially taking the 8th spot.

Wouldn't voters put more cred on recent activity for a freshman than what happened prior to the conference play?

I relied solely on his season stats and what I saw of him against us, but agree that is relevant if he is turning it on more lately in conference play.

And yesterday, Central Michigan got pummeled by Buffalo. But no Reggie Bass in the line-up for the Chips.

Injury, illness or disciplined?

Now is this somewhat impressive?

How about this:
Reggie Bass today in loss to NIU goes:

8 of 20
3 of 10 from three
AND FROM THE FREE THROW LINE: 21-24
40 Points!!!

Is that some type of MAC record for attempts in a game by one player?
I guess Hack-a-Bass worked in that NIU won but wow.

Holy smokes. Squares with the discussion though that when he gets the ball he is taking it himself. But clearly opponents struggle to defend him and there is reason for him to be a shot taker. I still think he might need reigned in a bit, even if some of the aggressiveness is a result of a poor roster around him.
