I commented last game that it seems Hunter & Miles never seem to be on at the same time but tonight was pretty close to that. Miles had a lot of turnovers for him, but when that shot is on it is pretty.
Anyone know what Jaylin did to piss off Boals?
I know everyone is tired of talking about it, but I still have to say I really hate that coach is back to doing the direct subs only with DW & Wiz. I still really struggle to understand why we can't have Clayton & Roderick in, or Hadaway. Wiz & Boals is beginning to feel like Saul & Teyvion. We had to be at least +20 with DW on the floor tonight, meaning Wiz was probably about -14.
Thought Roderick had a good night, and had 1-2 more physics defying rattle out shots. He can be a sneaky effective player in the paint. Clayton just 5 minutes. I continue to not understand it...I just think he is better than that.
Just a massive win. We've got a chance to really shake up some excitement and momentum Friday. But even with a loss, I think we still sit poised to get in that 5-7 seed range. Had we lost tonight I would've started to worry missing Cleveland was a real possibility.
Jaylin keeps rolling; no idea why he didn’t start, but it must have been minimal since he was subbed in right away. Favorite stats of his - 0 turnovers and 5 assists.
We talked about this in the Miami thread, I’m more convinced now than yesterday that there’s a disconnect between Clayton and staff. He has to be doing (or not doing) something that’s leading to significantly less playing time. I still think it has to do with his perimeter aspirations. I mean, we actually saw Hadaway for the first time last night (just a minute less) since the CMU game.
Doesn’t answer the Wiz question, but Clayton seems like he’s being phased out until….? Great win overall.
