There's more trouble awaiting Syracuse's men's program next year if its graduation and academic progress rates don't go up, according to The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES) at the
University of Central Florida. The NCAA is raising its APR standard next season to demand a 50% graduation rate for schools to qualify for the men's and women's tournaments. If this rule were in effect this year, the following schools would not be playing in the men's tournament: defending national champion Connecticut, Syracuse, Florida State, Indiana,
Southern Mississippi,
Saint Louis, Colorado, Colorado State, Mississippi Valley State, New Mexico State, Norfolk State,
Ohio and St. Bonaventure.
We're in good company though ...
