I am presenting at an Annual Meeting tomorrow morning in Michigan, about a half hour from Ann Arbor, to about 200 people...about 190 of which will be Michigan fans. What should I lead with to break the ice? It has to be humorous yet not just straight trash talking that will anger them and make them hate me...since this is my firm's customer and all...
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

"I graduated from Ohio -- I know that leads to some confusion around here. I graduated from the real Ohio, the one that just ended your basketball team's season."

I graduated from Ohio. I know that used to confuse some people, but, not now. I'm here to "school" you again.
edit: Ok, not the last sentence.

Does the topic of discussion have anything to do with OU? If not, you might want to reconsider using this as an ice breaker. It's difficult to not come off small if you bring it up out of the blue. You're not self depricating (safer), your taking a shot at your audience (much more difficult). I would use the mild OU/Michigan jab during one-on-one conversation, either before or after your big speech.

Could start off by apologizing for any busted brackets in the room?
Orrrr use it to close with...for instance, pop up a picture of the score board as your final slide if in powerpoint

Unfortunately the topic does not relate to Ohio or Basketball but rather Financial Statements. But I do have a good working relationship with management where we can joke back and forth and they are well aware of my allegiance...In fact, they may mention it when they introduce me.
I like the first suggestion but worry many of the people won't pick up the reference (of Hoke, etc. calling OSU Ohio)...and it could come across a little too trash talky.
I was thinking about saying "Let's get this out of the way, I am an Ohio graduate and season ticket holder and was in Nashville this past weekend. That may make me unpopular in this crowd, but we can all agree that we don't like Ohio State" or something to that effect. I feel like OSU hatred is the only thing that I can use to unify us.

BigM GoBlue Fans loved the Brutus smackdown. They liked it so much that when their band did the Wizard of Oz parity they had OUr Rufus doing his thing on the hated nut from Columbus.
Don't talk basketball, talk football..that's what they are most excited about now that basketball is finished--FOR THEM....Unless you wear scarlet and grey skivvies, then you are on your own.
