Anybody know the official hotel for OHIO?  Or, hotels nearby the Dome?

Thanks!

There is a really nice Renaissance Inn right across the street from the Dome.  It is one of the original hotels in downtown St. Louis and has been remodelled quite nicely.

Renaissance is full.   Just booked the Embassy Suites.  There are two nice Hilton's within a mile too.

Where is a good place for someone cheap to stay? A safe area outside of town with less expensive prices?

Anyone who may be interested in carpooling from Ohio to St. Louis, or splitting lodging expenses, please send me a private message.  Would be good to try to work together on this if possible.

Spent most of the evening doing the Priceline Name Your Own Price thing.  Downtown STL seems to be priced at a premium, of course, and no bids were accepted. I should have booked the Ritz Carlton for $199, but i was overruled by the Mrs.  At that point  I had to expand my search area, but in doing so i certainly dropped my bids.

I finally got a 3.5* hotel, The Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center St Louis for $65 night. I started at $39 then $49 then $59. Its in Chesterfield which is a little ways west of town.  My wife is from STL and knows this property, says it has a great brunch.   Also, seems to have tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, multiple on site restaurants, late night room service.

I only saw seven 3.5 star hotels in Greater STL.  None took the bait, most are listing rack rates over $134 on priceline. The airport properties are listing significant deals, specifically the Hilton.  I was advised by said wifey to avoid the airport area.

All in all i can't complain. The hotels in STL are muuuuuuuuuuch more plentiful and cheaper than Nashville.

Pricelined the 3.5 star Renaissance Hotel at the airport for $49/night. Two nights including taxes is $122. I believe there is also a $10/day parking fee.

BetterBidding.com is showing a win in the downtown area at the 3-star Millennium downtown for $51/night. I needed an indoor pool for the kids so I didn't go that route.

I was just at Kemolls last week for an event but didn't eat because I was having a great dinner directly after.  Thought to myself that I should take the wife there to try it sometime.  Great views of the Arch from one of the private rooms.

I've also never been to a Bobcat Bash (First non Convo/Q tourney game).  How many people do people think will show up and would two 27 year olds have a good time?

There probably were a couple hundred people at the Bashes in Nashville. I'm not quite 30 yet and I enjoy them.

President McDavis is usually worth the price of admission (we are going to kick some Michigan butt). Throw in about 3 songs from the 110, food close to the game and it's a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the info guys.  I guess I'll talk to the wife and see if she can try and get off earlier so we can make it.

I think UpSan is underestimating the Nashville Bash attendance...I'd guess between 300-400.

It's worth the price of admission.

I agree...the Nashville Bash was well worth the admission.  Great location, the food was very good (BBQ Pulled Pork, Sliders, Fruit Cobbler, cheesecake, nachos, mashed potatoes with toppings), price was very good (I think they made up on it with the alcohol sales).

The pricing and food offerings vary with location.  We've avoided the Detroit ones that have been $35/person for staple items like arena stand hamburgers and hotdogs.  I've been told that Ford Arena kind of does the gouging on that one and I prefer to take wife to real nice dinner for that $70.

I know that there have been some cheaper prices coming up outside of downtown.......but I just did a Priceline bid for Thursday & Friday night for some other friends who are making the trip. $78 into a 4 star downtown bid hit at the actual team hotel, the Union Station Marriott. With all fees/taxes/etc., ended up being two downtown nights for $196.

Felt pretty good about that, and didn't expect any reasonable downtown avails. Cheapest downtown hotel that was not a Priceline bid and was 3-star or higher was a Sheraton showing at 129 + taxes/etc.

So I'll be flying in around 1:30 from Denver. I'm looking for anyone who wants to share a hotel room, may be able to give me a ride from the airport, or might care that I'm Tim Burke's brother. Just wanting to share some costs, etc. Thanks, fellow Bobcats! I have a ticket and everything, so I'm good there.

I would guess there was about 300-350 people at the Nashville BCB last week. Had a nice time - remember talking to an alumn in my age group who was wearing a Zach Kiekow or Corey Reed jersey obtained at a previous OU athletic auction. Space was nice in that the 110 had a lot of room to work with. Food/timing was excellent. Also loved the name of the bar - Crazyhorse Saloon. All ages should have a good time - the age range was very wide ranging from early 20's to 70's....I'd put the median at around 40yo.

I don't know if they still have rooms, but the Hampton Inn Gateway Arch is worth a look.  I stayed their on business several weeks ago, and it was a very decent, only a couple of blocks from the Edward Jones Dome, and was reasonably priced ($120/night + $10 parking, although I'm sure they will charge more this weekend).

Worth repeating to those fearing about ticket availability. There is plenty available through ticketmaster. I was able to locate 8 together in the bottom of the 400 level ($150 for the strip) and the 300 club level ($170 for the strip).
The only fee you'll have to pay is $5/order.

Obviously try through the Ohio ticket office first to get grouped together with fellow fans (and the seats are nearly always better), but fear not if you strike out through that route.

It doesn't happen every year!
