My biggest fear is we turn it over and/or don't get back on D off misses fast enough and Carolina speeds it up big time and just runs right by us and blows us out.  Shouldn't happen.  But...that's my biggest fear.

We are one of those how-did-they-just-win-that-game teams.  Mainly because we play great defense and hit timely shots.  Its not beautiful basketball for most observers.

I think all the pressure is on Carolina.  But Carolina should be used to that.

One of the best things about Ohio is our fans.  We are a jolly group.  We'll cheer like hell and then have a beer with you afterwards regardless of the outcome (unless you are from Akron).

This sums it up nicely. My biggest fears are 2 fold...

1) Turnovers. We have, at times this year been a turn over machine. So far in the tourneys(MAC and NCAA) we've been very good at limiting them, lets hope that continues

2) My biggest fear is that the inside size of UNC and us trying to defend it will get us into foul trouble. We've had a couple/few games this year with foul troubles and it got ugly. We have got to be smart and not take the stupid fouls that a) put us in foul trouble and b) turn 2's into 3 point plays.

I think if we don't have either one of those things happen, we will be in the game the whole way and have a chance. However, if either one of these things occur, we are gonna get blown out.

We excel at forcing turnovers.  I think we will have to do a lot of that with Marshall out.  If we let you guys get settled in the half court and get the ball down to Zeller too often I think we will have a hard time coming up with an answer defensively even though we have managed to play pretty good defense in the post with 6'8" guys so far this year.  Zeller is a different animal than what we have had to face so far.  He is the guy that really scares me.

With Marshall's injury, I don't know if getting back quickly on D is going to be as important in this game as most might think.  Even if Marshall plays, you have to think he won't be as effective on the break.  Ohio's goal is always to play pressure d, force turnovers, and push the tempo.  With perhaps a limited Marshall or no Marshall at all, I'd look for Roy Williams and UNC to take advantage of their size and rebounding advantage and slow the game down on the offensive end.  Unlike like USF or Mich, UNC has guys with size that can finish around the basket (Henson, Barnes, Zeller).  It seems that based on circumstances and the kind of ball Ohio likes to play, that UNC would want to slow the game down and force the Bobcats to over commit in the post.

UNC plays one of the highest tempos in the country.  That is not going to change just because of Marshall's injury.

shaba, all too often this season UNC has stepped on the gas in games and pushed leads to 20+ and then completely let up. Especially early in the season, which is when we got UNC-A, which was opening their brand new arena that night. We dominated dook in Chapel Hill for 38 mins, up 10 and did the same thing. That's around the time that type of nonsense stopped. Regardless, here is a write up from that game via IC: http://northcarolina.scout.com/2/1128182.html

OUVan speaks the truth here, can't see us not running rather Kendall plays or not. Should be a great game, love the fast pace!

Agreed. In fact UNC may even push the pace more to avoid the half court sets which is where our defense shines.  It's the bigs with their rebounding and outlet passes that facilitate the running game.  We like the uptempo game as well but not nearly as much as Carolina.

Welcome Carolina fans... If you've got some extra time, you can see most of our season unfold in these videos.  It will also give you a chance to get to know the program and players a little more..

its nice to see some cordial Carolina fans here, I took a peak at the UNC boards and they think they could beat us if they had broken legs instead of broken wrists. that's alright though, they're board looks just like Georgetown's 2 years ago.

we'll need to play as well as we did vs Gtown too, I'm looking forward to a good game.

we'll need to play better. UNC's fans may be overlooking us, but unlike Georgetown, I don't think their team/coaches are
