He now has it in a removable splint.  Still no word on whether he'll play Friday.

I consider all this Marshall drama a good thing for OHIO, whether he plays or not.  I think we all agree that straight up, beating UNC is possible, but a monumental task.  However the Marshall drama throws some variables out there that some positive scenario's for OHIO.

What if:

1.  Marshall doesn't play, the team is out of sync, we pressure the heck out of their guards and throw their rhythmn all out of whack?
2.  What if Marshall does play and he really shouldn't be playing?  Once again, they're out of sync and we've pressuring the heck out of them and making him utilize his right hand.  Maybe they spend the first half realizing he shouldn't be playing.

The only scenario that could hurt us is if UNC hears all the smack being spoken about their chances now and comes out more motiviated that if we would've left the sleeping giant alone.  This is the once scenario where all this turns out bad for us as compared to the status quo.

So in summary, I like throwing variables into this game as the status quo isn't in our favor and 2 of the 3 scenario's I've listed give us an increased opportunity.

The local media down here in NC is covering this poor kid's wrist injury with the tenacity usually reserved for LA police chases involving White Ford Broncos.

Or, an injured race horse in Kentucky?

Just by reading about this story everyday since Sunday, especially more lately, I would be shocked if he plays.

I know he is a great player in all, but point guard play doesn't worry me - it is UNC's frontcourt.

Oh well, I just hope if OHIO pulls off a Shaka that ESPN recognizes that it was because of Cooper and the guys and not because of Marshall's injury.

If he does play, I assume it could hurt UNC more than help. I wouldn't want to play with that injury with Cooper stealing the ball every play down the court.

Downgraded to "doubtful" according to beat writers in Raleigh.  Official decision to come after a morning shoot-around.  General consensus remains, "we don't need him to beat a third-place MAC team."   - may have Bullock bring the ball up (guarded by Offutt I presume) - stay confident Tar Heel fans, stay over confident.

Offutt will eat Bullock up.
