Use this thread to discuss all NCAA tournament action that Ohio is not playing in.

I caught most of the Mississippi Valley State-Western Kentucky game. MVSU was up 16 with about five minutes to go and had momentum. I did a Russ Eisenstein "this game is done", and then WKU rallied and won. Both teams looked awfully sloppy, and I'm confident Kentucky could hang 100 on either team.

I agree, both teams very sloppy.  Miss Valley looked to be very athletic, but it didn't seem to translate to being a real good basketball team, IMO.

Interesting that Colorado State has three guys 6'10'' or taller and none of them had an impact on their game today. In fact, I don't think any of them played.

This Southern Miss - Kansas State game is getting good.

The ONLY problem I have with Ohio making the tourney is that all the games don't matter to me when the Bobcats are in the field.

UNC ASHVILLE-Syracuse tied at 13, early ...could this be the 16v1 upset game that never was?

Considering Melo is out for the tourney....anything can happen....Syracuse is definately better with him than without

well one of the 13 v 4 matchups didnt produce an upset....in my opinion that betters our chance...there has to be at least 1 per tourney...with parity getting better in the NCAA, the 13v4 match is what the 12v5 was a few years ago....

Wisconsin is handling Montana right now...that leaves either Ohio or New Mex to pull at least one of the 13 v 4 upsets.......

Lousville knocked off Davidson.

When I heard our friends Asheville as the 16 seed, I thought that was a pretty solid team for a 16.  I could definitely see them winning this one.

They're going to get out-rebounded by a wide margin. The good news is Syracuse isn't getting many open looks. Their defense will keep them in this game.

These referees may not leave Pittsburgh alive.

Those bad calls when the game was on the line was devastating to Asheville. I'd think twice about assigning those refs to any more games this year. Send them home to look at the tape.

Fab Melo is smarter than those refs.

The lane violation was a work of fiction.

Edit: I was wrong about that. But they still stunk.

Kind of reminds me the 'phantom extra point" that Syracuse used to tie Toledo in the last football season.  They then won the game in OT.  If called correctly, Toledo would have won in regulation.  That call was the undefeated ten-week champion in ESPN's "worst of the worst" challenge.  I think we now have new candidates.

Agreed.  My tweet after the out of bounds call: "It would be a travesty if any of these three officials works another game in this tournament."

Interesting this is the THIRD game in a major sport this year all but handed to the Orange by absolute ineptitude, and not on particularly close calls, either.

Apparently the answer to Fran's question is: "It all depends on who the refs give the ball to."  Same with a lane violation that the replay (run numerous times) clearly shows was not a lane violation in terms of the actual rules. The end of this game had the "look and feel" of Alice in Wonderland.

Tournament not going well for mids for the most part so far.  Gonzaga the only mid to beat a big 6 team so far.  Let's hope that trend comes to a halt tonight.

It's too bad VCU and Wichita State had to play each other.
