I really don't think I am over-stating things when I say if DJ's half court shot would have been 2 inches left and went in...It would have been the greatest moment in NCAA Tournament history.  At least top 5.  #1 seeds were 133-0 against 13 seeds or worse in the history of the tournament.  No 13 seed or worse has ever made the Elite 8.  The 2012 North Carolina team could end up being a historically talented roster of NBA greats, with an obvious legendary coach.  The win itself would have been extremely historic, but ending it with a half court shot at the buzzer?  Oh my...

We were 2 inches away from creating a top 5 moment in college basketball history.

You're absolutely right.

Or 4 inches on Walt's free throw.

Or 2-3 inches on at least 3 of Ivo's shots.

Or a few inches on our many missed layups.

Tons of what ifs.  It's already been said, but that makes this one harder to let go.  Last evening was the worst night's sleep I've had in a long, long time.  And yet, I was smiling for most it.

The mixed emotions from this game are weird. I still don't know how to feel right now.

I slept like a baby*. It was a great season, and a great game. Our guys played their hearts out, left it all on the court. The boys in blue just played a better one (reboundsreboundsrebounds).

*Several fermented beverages may have played a role in easing my sleep.
