After I got home from watching tonight's game at the local sports bar (awesome, huge screen) and reviewed all the text's I received before, during and after the game. Then, I checked my email as well. I had almost 30 wonderfully touching (almost all pro OHIO) messages from old, dear friends, some new friends and even a some business customers that I thought didn't care for my Bobcat ramblings.
I had no idea my passion for OHIO athletics had actually touched so many people:
"WE'RE ROOTING FOR YOU BRIAN" "Go OHIO!!" "You Guys SUCK" (first half text from an ACC buddy) "Cat's shoulda won" - etc, etc, etc
Point is, I've been following & rooting for OHIO ever since I arrived in Athens in 1980 and as it turns out, many of the people I've touched since then took the time to let me know they were thinking of me & OHIO while watching tonight's game.
I guess I'm just proud to be a Bobcat and I've thoroughly enjoyed these past few weeks talking about Ohio University to just about everybody I met. And, after reading my messages, it turns out, they actually WERE LISTENING.
