Amazingly I have been pretty much at peace about tonight's outcome. I even have a slight smile from time to time.

Most Ohio sports defeats makes me feel down.

But I feel numb.

Comfortably numb.

Which is probably a feeling one would usually associate with Ohio University.

Probably because Ohio made a great run. Plus, in the current system, only the national champion ends the season on a truly positive note.

A run of UNC, Kansas, OSU/Syracuse and Kentucky/Baylor/Louisville would require as much luck as good play for any team.

I may have posted this elsewhere. I don't remember.  I don't care. Yes, if not for a free throw here or there, or if not for the first half shooting, what could have been. But. BUT: I'm so ******* proud of how we played tonight, just played out of our minds, out of bodies. fOUght and fOUght and fOUght and made it to the sweet ******* 16 (no seniors) AND took a #1 seed to the first OT of the tournament! And we're the first 13+ seed to push a #1 seed to OT. I was literally crying tears of pride (at the game play) and joy listening to the 110 and the cheerleaders and crowd playing/singing Stand Up And Cheer after the game, in a loss. This crazy run had to end somewhere, I can't think of a finer, more heartbreaking end than this one.

I felt this exact same way two years ago when Xavier lost to Kansas State in 2OTs of the Sweet 16, only this one was increased 1000% and my heart was exploding. Had Cooper's shot gone in, I was going to burst into tears. I was on the brink when they just start canning three after three after three...absolutely incredible.

Same here. Not that I am ok with losing, In 2010 we advanced to round of 32. 2012 to Sweet 16. What's next? I hope 8 or 4.I just know the something very special is happening!

The best TEAM did not win tonight but I am still proud as hell of what OUr guys did this year.  We will still be disrespected ("it was only close because Marshall was out."  BS. that team has 5 lotto picks and could only beat us in OT?!?!?)  OUr team is amazing.  Experts may not know yet...lets show em.

Kadeem and Caris:  Welcome.  Get ready to ball.  It's on.

How could HS players in OH not want to play for this team?

The funny about this game was that it was a lot like the South Florida game, but North Carolina was a bit bigger and better from outside. We played our game and the defense of Ohio worked and we got good shots all nite. Who would have predicted back in November that we would reach the sweet sixteen and take #1 seed North Carolina team to overtime. This team represented the school and the conference well. The exposure Ohio University got these past two weeks can't be under estimated. I'm sure we got a boatload of high school kids putting Ohio on their list of colleges to visit and apply to. Not bad to have the endorsement of Clark Kellogg about sending a child off to Ohio University. In the long run the program will gain alot off this run. We are now a household name. Every high school prospect has heard of us and has seen us play at a high level. We are big time now !!!!!
