I wonder if we could get any mileage out of proposing a Christmas Tournament between the four teams from the State of Ohio that made the Sweet 16 this year -- Ohio, Ohio State, Xavier and Cincinnati? The first tournament could be played in Columbus, with an agreement to rotate it each year, for four years, to the home city of each of the other participants. This would mean once in Columbus (hosted by OSU), twice in Cincinnati (one hosted by UC and once by XU) and once in Athens (hosted by OU). It could be a weekend event with two games on Friday, and then two more games on Saturday -- winners playing winners and losers playing losers. This is probably a wild-eyed dream, but it would seem to me that given the great press that was received by the record number of teams from the State of Ohio making the Sweet 16 this year that it might be able to garner some corporate support if pitched in the correct way to the proper corporations. OK, now it's time to tell me why this will never fly and is the most moronic post in the history of this board. Let 'er rip!
You are only allowed one "tournament" a year. So for them to compete in this thing they would have to give up Maui, Pre Season NIT, etc.
Also, X and UC already play each other, and OSU won't play any of them.
So basically this has a 0.00% chance of ever happening. Not that I wouldn't want to see it.
