I was more impressed with the OHIO fanbase at this game then I ever have been in my entire life.  Extremely loud the entire game.  Standing and energized (almost just plain out rowdy) the whole game.  Bobcatnation stood up in a big way.

UNC fans didn't really get into it until the last 7 minutes...  The NC State fans near me complimented us as we left for being a great fanbase.  I even saw Kansas fans snapping pictures and videos of the Ohio section after big runs in the 2nd by our team.

If the Convo can capture the energy I saw last night, I don't think it will be possible to beat us at home.

Best crowd my wife and I have ever been a part of and that goes back to the late sixties.

It was outstanding in Nashville, and it was outstanding in St. Louis.  I actually had to recalibrate myself, because usually when I'm watching an Ohio v. major conference school kind of game, I am happy when the crowd groans and sad when they cheer.  It had me all mixed up on charge/block or out of bounds situations when I missed the signal.

I had to do the same thing. Kudos to those of you who were able to go.

I have been wondering this myself. It sure looked and felt like we were the most energized fans there. I was away from the main OHIO block of fans - and that section made A LOT OF NOISE! Other team fans around me made lot's of comments - a group of younger UNC fans in front of us were obviously perturbed that we even thought we had a chance - and it was REAL FUN watching them get REAL NERVOUS. They way they were acting at the end of the game you woulda thought they were playing Duke - the back and forth was FUN!

I expected more NC fans...I do think Ohio fans outnumbered them.  They took up only one section, with some scattered around arena.   The NC fans never showed any interest in the game until Ohio took the lead with about 7 minutes left.  I'm sure they weren't expecting a game.

In all three games OHIO played, as well as the other session game, no fans were close to OUrs in support and no other teams fans stood for any period of time, much less for every minute of each of the three games like Ohio's.  Even when we were down double digits to NC, no one sat down.

the look and sound of the fans was amazing on TV. You could clearly hear all the cheers and there were always patches of green visible throughout the stands. Its a reminder that our bball program is further along than our football program in terms of long term perception and support.

As you look at the top picture, we were sitting in the stands to the right of the NC fans (third row of fans directly above the a in fan).  From there we could clearly see the main OU contingent and the NC State crowd.  We kept hoping the Cats could get it close and get the rest of the arena into it.  When we got to within 4, the NC State folks started getting excited and then in turn the Kansas fans.  The first time we tied it, it seemed like both of those sections would just go crazy.  The last 6 to 8 minutes of regulation were about as good as it gets.

This is one of those games and seasons we'll be talking about for the next twenty years.
