Treg Setty for sure. Senior year Treg was the best combination of height and create-your-own shot ability that I can remember in our program.

Doug Taylor - yep

How about Whitney Davis? I can't remember a player making noticeable gains from one season to the next quite as well as Whit did. He went from a guy that gave others a rest before media timeouts his sophomore year to everything you could ask for out of a sixth man his junior year (and sometimes looking like the best player on a roster that had Leon, Sonny T, Fears, and Mychal Green).

Hard discussion because "star" means many different things to different people. A lot of names mentioned I would say were too much a "star" for this discussion.

The answer is clear - James Bridgewater.

Also, Quinn Corna...obviously.

Gus Johnson and Jeff Boals from those 90s teams.
Edit to add Chad Estis (from walk-on to NCAA tourney starter) and the immortal Rush Floyd (who was a better drunk 3pt shooter?)
.
There is no Ohio hoops player who loved The Pub more than Rush Floyd. He got the most out of his college experience that is for sure. Went from MAC Freshman of the Year to barely seeing the court the rest of his career. Can't really blame him if he loved Court Street more than the Convo floor.
Rush Floyd. Sounds like a Rock n Roll Hall of Fame name.

Except the RRHOF is busy honoring Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, etc...

Shab stole mine for Whit Davis.

I'd put Mike Laster on this list too.

Next year Quinn will be a star, so his listing here is only temporary! ;-)

I mean it all depends on how much Burrito Buggy money we're gonna find for him. Quinn Corna don't mess around when it comes to making the chedda.

Tommy Schmock for me. When locked in he was one of the better shooters in recent years from deep but when he was off he was ice cold.

This is a question for old farts and those who have memorized old OHIO rosters. Does anyone remember the bench player circa 1966 who the student section would always cheer for at end of games and want Coach Snyder to put in the game? Once he got in, the fans would cheer his every move, and when he made a basket it would bring the house down. He only got in when we had an insurmountable lead or were hopelessly behind. The latter didn't occur often in home games in the era. My wife remembers this guy, also, but neither of us can remember his name. All we remember is that when OHIO had big lead the chant for this player would start and not let up until he was put into the game.
Most of us weren't around or are too young to remember but you can see if this jogs your memory.

Thanks, I think it might have been the guy listed on 1966-67 roster as Hamilton with no first name and no stats, but I'm not completely sure. Having a first name would certainly help in jogging the memory. There are three guys on this roster with only last names. Strange!

A few years later there was a guy like this at Marshall and all I remember is his first name, "Willie." When Willie got in the house went wild.

Over my two years of watching OU hoops, I've always been a B-Rod fan as we went to high school together. But, also a huge fan of Miles and Estis - really nice guys who I've ran into on campus. AJB is a great guy as well. Ezuma - really goofy, hilarious and nice too. It's hard to pick one.

I think it was Bob Wood who transferred from Northwestern. He rarely played. That was my sophomore year. As a side note Gerald McKee should be in the Hall of Fame. He was the all-time leading scorer when his senior year was completed as he broke Don Hilt’s scoring record. No idea why he isn’t.
