Best and most entertaining defensive effort of the year.

We are getting a whole lot more from Baker ad of late. Don't want to let that go unmentioned.
D was great. James really coming on. Wilson & Hunter consistent. Baker certainly improving. 5 in double figures scoring. Good momentum at the right time with this team....

Attendance Sucked....but once again a Blue Lot parking pass meant closer walk to Seamans than Convo....
That's why I always take my blue lot pass and use it to get into the Peden Lot. You do have to cross two streets, but for me it's closer and more more convenient.
They will let you park in Peden Lot with a Blue Lot pass? If so that is what I will do moving forward!
Yep, I've been doing it for years. The attendant will sometimes give you a strange look and say, "Do you realize you can park in the Blue Lot with this pass?" I say, "Yes, but I find this lot more convenient." They always let me in. Never had a problem. It's like having a reserved seat in the Convo but deciding to sit with friends in the GA area. Nobody objects. They just think you're weird. Since I'm weird, it doesn't bother me at all! ;-)
Great - I'll give it a shot - Thanks!

I enjoy all the comments. Andrew R. please work out a deal with "The Messenger" for an article a week or something. As an "older timer" myself. I will be repetitive with how disappointed I personally am with student turnout etc. I feel the 110'sh has had more enthusium in the past. I understand it's new age, with social media, however there is no reason 500 kids (students) can't be drawn to a 2hr game. It would be different if we had 5 more wins I guess. So happy for the team last night. That is a solid win in my books. keep up having confidence that a win in the MAC is possible every night

We have busted our butts to promote games this year and unfortunately for this game it didn't work out. We were passionate as a group (was apart of a standing group of around ten people and Norm) and we were very crushed to see many students just sit in the upper section above the bleachers. I just don't get it sometimes but this is a nationwide problem at colleges.

Ha, not sure the Messenger is interested in employing a random rambling accountant.

Also, not sure it would be any different at all with 5 more wins. That's how hopeless I feel about it.

This article is from 2005. Lot of the same criticisms.

Interesting to read that the same struggles were encountered in 2005. I do think we should keep the gen admission seating for now but I do think we should strive to include more incentives for fellow students to come to games.

I remember Danny Nee standing at Court and Union, promoting the game on game days.

Can someone remind me what the story is with the Brazilian cheering section? I know it's an annual occurrence but not sure of the details.

I have sat with the Brazilians in past years. Almost surreal compared to US fans. They are grad students here for six or so weeks for classes at the school of business. When they have stayed at the Ohio University Inn where I work, they are known in the summer for the coolest pool parties. Friendly folks who love partying. So what you see at the games is how they are at their soccer games back in Brazil. Basically loud group cheers throughout the game. I wish we could pay them to stay for all the games because they add a ton of atmosphere.

Believe it or not, some students may not even know you can go to games for free. I remember getting ready to leave for a game one season 2004 and my roommate was like "how much are tickets?" When I told him they were free, he got off the couch and came to the game with me. And we ended up having a blast during a big Bobcat win in the Convo. Word of mouth helps a TON.

Yeah, I read "the messenger ". I catch "The A-News". However, The Post can't "The Post" can't have an entire page for/ day before Game Days!?(journalism) We are a higher learning institution that can't find an identity.. Unfortunately the administration, faculty, and all between, can't come together. And in turn, it does affect Athletics.. Im sorry, but i'm tired of hearing B.S. about not getting students to fill 100 seats, not 10. Brazilian Bobcats and ROTC always save the day

Capacity crowd tonight in Youngstown. I still don't see much though resembling a student section. MYbe 25 students standing off to the left with many behind them sitting on their hands. Some kids are just too cool for this.

I see that at YSU, and everyone else playing CBB on TV right now Shab.. I will be the first to compliment , yet something is not working Cellis.. I am not being critical, just constructive criticism. I will try to help you while I'm in town for the rest of the season. Maybe we can bounce ideas. 5 in a row coming up!
