Please forgive IllinoisFan for his ignorance. While it is true that many of our fans view Groce as a disapointment...I personally would love the hire for what it's worth. However...I have not heard one person that thinks Kendall Gill would be a better choice and honestly that is freakin hilarious that would even be a thought. In fact...while the majority of people do want Jerrance Howard too stay...most of us want him to stay on as an assistant. Very few people want him to be our next head coach.

This person talks how Groce wouldn't be successful because he recruits MAC caliber players. First of all, if you are a team in the MAC that is what you should expect to recruit. If he is in the B1G I would expect to see B1G players. Secondly, I believe that Ohio knocked off Michigan (a B1G team that beat Illinois 2x this year) in the first round of the NCAA. That leads me to believe that A.) he is recruiting decent players and B.) doing a good job coaching them up.

As for this BOT that keeps opening his mouth...he started this crap after we hired our football coach and is still opening his freaking mouth about it. I personally would love nothing more than for him to get canned, but we all know how Illinois politics functions. For him to come out and basically call Groce a second tier coach in pubic and then to suggest we take a hard look at OSU coach because of his resume (skin color) is embarrassing.

Sorry for the rant...it is just an extremely frusterated time to be an Illini fan at the moment. For our sake, I hope we get Groce.
