Folks, if the papers are right, in a couple of hours this saga will be over.  Time to regroup and get a coach in here that can keep this thing going.  Is Jim Snyder II around?  I think it would be nice to get a guy with ties to the Green and White and might actually want to stay for a while.  Obviously, we want a winner too.  My feeling is new coaches every five years gets old.  Especially if 2 out of 3 don't pan out.  That is a lot of time in the wilderness.

Best to JG and "thanks for the memories".

The papers? Your source is the papers? Is this 1992?

This is a welcome opinion, but could we please keep this to one thread?

Casper, I just don't agree with you.  I say we keep hiring young, ambitious up and comers who relate to the Xavier-Butler-OSU system from the Matta-Groce tree.  That's the best way to have coaches motivated to win.  I don't have a problem with a coaching change every five years.

I agree Jeff. As long as Ohio is successful I don't mind being a stepping stone.

I'll amend my previous post a little to say I'd be open to hiring an older coach like Todd Lickliter...because he is so immersed in the system established at Ohio.

I'd have to think that when Groce retires in about 20 years that Lickliter my be a little too old. ;)

The problem with Lickliter is it makes me think of Sam Lickliter.

Just remember that for every JG you might get one or two TOS's.  My point is that if you can get a "Matta" tree with a guy who his ties (I guess that could be a Boals or D. Ford) maybe you can get off the every five years cycle and get a Jim Snyder II.  Seems to me that is something to strive for.

Snyder II, that's what I thought Groce might be.  If not, maybe it could be Boals.  A big plus in my book.

I have moved on to imagining what the sound of the reception applause is like when Jeff is introduced at the first game next year in the Convo..........it sounds pretty good...........

$1.375, $1.2 Large? That's a lot of Bud, Hearty Burgundy, and Black Unis to sell.................
