I've been reading this from afar and enough is enough.

The more you all clamor for Dustin Ford or Jeff Boals the less likely it is they will be hired.

We have an AD who clearly views himself as a kingmaker. Regardless of how much Athens would respond to one of our own like Ford or Boals, our AD has an ego that challenges him to go outside the box so he can get full credit when the next coach succeeds with a returning roster like what we have to offer.

When I hear Jim Schauss say geography ties don't matter, much like when he brought Gregg Marshall from Winthrop to Wichita State, I am anticipating that he is interviewing a Scott Nagy at South Dakota State as we speak, because he is a lot smarter than us message boarders.

Looking forward to saying I told you so...

Nagy would be a good get I think, but is it the right fit?

And apparently you, because that was flat out funny. Well played.

As for the original premise, going out of the geographical area doesn't make you smart but being limited by the geographical might make you stupid.   That being said nothing you said doesn't mean that Jeff Boals isn't the best candidate.   I'm not in the know so I don't know what Jeff Boals or Todd Lickliter or Dustin Ford or any other assistant's real strengths and weaknesses are. I know what I've read but that doesn't make it accurate.  I'm guessing Schaus has a good idea.  In short, it ain't that simple.

I read your forum handle as "Love The MCATs."

Maybe that is why you're able to decipher Schaus' hiring strategy and we aren't.
