Here is a link to WBNS interview with Christian on Tuesday.  Good to see them make the trip down for the presser.

Great interview.  He really sounds like a players' coach.

I particularly liked his last line, "This is a place that could be special for a long time."  Now's here's hoping that we, the fans, want him to stay at this special place a few years down the road.  Let the honeymoon officially begin!

Maybe I'm reading too much into things, but I think his answer to the last question seemed to say an awful lot about his feelings on why things turned out the way they did at TCU.

"As long as you have the commitment, how could you not (want to be here long term)? You always want to be at a place where they want you to succeed at the highest levels. You want them to have a shared vision with you on what it would take, how you can get there, and I think they were way ahead of the game with me here."

Seems like an intense guy. Thought he was also quite articulate and came across as eager to get started.

I think this will turn out to be a very good hire.

Now, it's time to advertise each home game all over the 30-minute radius around Ohio University and it's time to pack the house each and every night.

I know I don't post much (one of those newbies since we went on our football/basketball run) but I am getting excited about this guy.  You are right when you said his last answer said it all.  He seemed genuine when he said he wanted to be here and build something special b/c it appears that's what OHIO is trying to do!

+1! He's had to be really pulling for us to keep getting us this coverage.

He's definately making up for their FB/social media person who posted "Ohio Univ. gets stomped by UNC" on their FB page right after the UNC game ended in OT.  They had over a 100 posts ripping that headline before they took it down, not only from Ohio fans, but some UNC fans and OSU fans were calling it disrespectful.

Welcome!  Please post as often as you'd like.  We need all the new blood that we can get.  BTW, is that Jacksonville as in Jacksonville up in Northern Athens County, or Jacksonville, as in the State of Florida?  If the former, I hope to see you and 100 of your best friends in the Convo for each game this coming season!

Pretty sure Greg is an alum. He is also super talented and a great addition to WBNS. I say that knowing how tough it is to get coverage for the Bobcats. Maybe some truthful flattery will keep the stories coming.

I don't think it's unreasonable to also get people to come from Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, both for basketball and football. I see a lot of good things happening 2012-2013 not just how the teams perform, but the support they get from big areas.

Couldn't agree more. I've also appreciated Ohio getting mentions from WCMH (their weekend sports anchor Matt Barnes is an alum), but to get multiple Columbus stations giving news on Athens is special...
